The Trinamool camp has alleged that around 300 of their supporters residing at Gokulnagar area were forced to leave their homes in the last three days. The CPM on the other hand has said that about 100 people, including women and children of 20 families, left Rainagar village of Nandigram today.
Trinamool leader Seikh Suffian further alleged that the CPM had failed to get the support of the people in the last six months after the recapture of Nandigram in November by the hired goons of the party. He added that the CPM leaders are now trying to create terror in Nandigram with the help of outsiders. “The CPM cadres are targetting Gokulnagar, a stronghold of the Trinamool Congress, he alleged.
In the last few days, CPM supporters reportedly attacked families supporting the Trinamool and vandalised their houses in Adhikaripara and Gokulnagar. After that, about 300 villagers of Gokulnangar were left homeless and were forced to take shelter in Maheshpur, adjacent to the Nandigram block office.
Nandigram Panchayat Samiti Sabhapati and CPM district committee member of East Midnapore Asoke Bera also admitted that the families of Trinamool supporters had left their home following tension at Gokulnagar.
He further claimed that CPM supporters had also left Rainagar.
