Mumbai Given that they are one of Bollywood's most watched couples, one would think Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor would put their relationship first.

But it seems their careers are more important.

"I think we are both young and our careers are important to us, so what Ranbir said was absolutely right," Padukone said when asked about Kapoor's recent statement he would choose a good film over their relationship.

The actress, 23, told reporters at a press conference on Thursday she would do the same if asked to choose.

"I would make the same choice, absolutely," Padukone said.

Kapoor and Padukone made their debut in Bollywood in 2007, though in different films.

The two have been dating for more than a year now, starring together in television commercials and the film ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’.

Padukone, who was last seen in ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ opposite Akshay Kumar, said she had signed Sajid Khan's film starring Kumar.

The model-turned-actress, who is also doing Imtiaz Ali's next project starring Saif Ali Khan, said her hectic schedule this year has meant a lot more time management -- a skill she picked up as a teenager playing competitive badminton and travelling to various tournaments.

"We used to travel by second-class railway, stay in dorms," Padukone said.

"I think when you have that kind of lifestyle, you have to have time management."
