Chandigarh, January 28 City boy Rahul Bakshi has made it to the Indian junior team for the World Team Championship after finishing second in the Asia qualifying round at Damai Laut Golf and Country Club in Malaysia from January 23 to 25. Exactly a week ago, Rahul had won the All India Amateur title at Chandigarh.

While most 17-year-olds are figuring out which career to choose and what the future holds for them, Rahul has barrelled through the national circuit with the same determination that he shows on the golf course.

“It feels good to be a part of the Indian team for the World Championship,” he said.

“The competition was tough and with only two teams qualifying for the World Championship, we wanted to finish at least second. The fact that our team lost to Korea by only three strokes in the overall score will help us put up a better performance in the World Championship,” said the 17-year-old.

Rahul Bakshi is the only junior golfer to have won both the All India junior title and the All India amateur title.
