Chandrakant Gokhale passes away

Veteran actor Chandrakant Gokhale passed away at a private hospital in Pune on June 20 following prolonged illness. He was 87.
Having been detected with cancer, Gokhale was in and out of the hospital for the last two months. Oncologist Dr Anandbhushan Ranade said Gokhale was just out after spending 15 days in the ICU. He had earlier taken chemotherapy sessions.
The last rites were conducted at the Vaikunth crematorium. A large number of actors had reached the crematorium to pay their respects to the veteran actor. Among those present were Abhiram Bhadkamkar, Sunil Sukhtankar and Chhitranjan Kolhatkar.
Gokhale is survived by son Vikram and daughter Meena Gokhale. He had spent almost 75 illustrious years in the field of acting during which he acted in 68 Marathi movies, 16 Hindi films, 64 stage plays and a couple of television serials. He was last seen in Valu.
