Fillies aplenty

None of the punters over at the race course would have bet on this one: Twinkle Khanna, rarely seen to make a public appearance, was spotted chilling out with husband Akshay Kumar at the Indian Oaks (a premium race) cocktails afternoon hosted by HDIL MD Sunny Dewan Wadhawan at the Turf Club. Akshay, in particular, was all smiles. A mix of Mumbai’s chic set, including fashion designers Pria Kataria Puri (in a silky kaftan), Neeta Lulla, who hung out with Arshiya Fakih, Rohit Bal. Actors Preeti Jhangiani, Suchitra Pillai, models Nisha Harale and Lata Patel, oneophile Kavita Choughule and director Ken Ghosh were also seen having a good time.

Showstopper Twinkle and Akshay’s his-and-hers outfits were really cute.

Saif and sound

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan entertained Mumbai audiences for the last half an hour of a rock concert featuring, among other acts, popular bands Parikrama and Strings. Saif’s kids, Sara and Ibrahim, who usually accompany to his performances, were seen cheering their father on. Sara, in particular, snapped away on her digital camera. The actor dedicated Johnny Biggle by Chuckle Berry for his daughter and Road house by The Doors to his son Ibrahim. It seems like Saif looks at strumming a guitar as an alternative creative outlet, like other stars take to theatre, especially considering he strummed at Vijay Mallya’s gig in the city two years ago.

Showstopper Saif’s relentless strumming had fans asking for more.
