Raipur Re-polling will be held in eight polling booths in four-assembly constituencies in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday following variation in number of voters and actual votes cast and other discrepancies in polling, said officials in Raipur.

So far 49 booths in 14 assembly constituencies have gone re-polling and with eight booths where re-polling will be held tomorrow, the total number would go up to 57.

According to officials with the state election office, assembly constituencies where the re-polling will be held include Keshkal, Dondilohara, Kunkuri and Antagarh.

Re-polling in these booths will be held as some booths reported excess voting than the number of voters where as there was no polling in some booths. Besides, fake polling in some booths was also reported.

This is the third occasion when re-polling will be held in the state since the completion of two-phased assembly elections on November 20 this year.

Earlier, on November 24 and 25 re-polling was held in 33 and 16 polling booths respectively.

On November 24 re-polling was held in 33 assembly constituencies spreading across seven assembly constituencies in Bastar division while on November 25 re-polling was held in 16 polling booths in seven constituencies in five districts.

Election was held for 90 assembly seats of the state on November 14 and 20 and counting of votes will be done on December 8, 2008, officials added.
