China row: ‘Paranoid hallucination of an individual’, says Cong

New Delhi Congress today dismissed as “paranoid hallucination of an individual” the comments of a Chinese think-tank about Balkanising India. Party spokesman Manish Tewari said that the comments did not deserve any importance as it was the opinion of one individual.

“At best, it could be described as the paranoid hallucination of an individual. It does not serve the cause of a resurgent India to take note of an individual,” Tewari said pointing out that India had traveled far since theory of Balkanisation of India was postulated by western thinkers in 1950s and 1960s.

Asserting that India wants to strengthen ties with China, Tewari said the country has received assurances about its territorial integrity from the “highest quarters”. He, however, underlined that India has a proper assessment of the threat posed to it and continues to assess the threat.

Congress insiders, however, feel the Chinese think tank’s comments could be an attempt by China to test India and that it would not be wise India to react over it. The party believes that since there is no place for individual opinions in China, the comments therefore tank could be part of a design.

China row: ‘Paranoid hallucination of an individual’, says Cong by vssubramaniam on 12 Sep 2009

A hypocritical Delhi used the China factor to support the Sinhalese genocide, but it dismisses as hallucinations a menacing China think tank strategic study on balkanizing India. India’s China bloodied nose in its Northern frontiers soon after the Nehru-Chou (NAM) honeymoon years led prudent and reputable analysts (not apologists) to argue for due weighting for the China factor in India’s foreign policy making. Yet thanks to Delhi bureaucracy’s deal culture China allies have virtually encircled India the latest ally being the Sinhalese. Bhadrakumar attributes the Chinese threat in the South to Delhi’s overt support for the Sinhalese genocide by destroying the LTTE. The LTTE was the leverage Delhi had over Colombo. This was bartered away cheaply by the Narayanan trio inviting the Chinese threat to its doorstep in the South. Nateri Adigal and Anil Athale two other reputed analysts had long argued cogently about this threat to India’s soft under belly emerging from Delhi’s flirtation with Colombo. The indifference of the Delhi bureaucracy power brokers will cost India dearly and no patriotic Indian except the Narayanan trio will disagree.V S Subramaniam

don't say what you don't know! by s anand on 14 Aug 2009

Hallucination is an abnormal perception and not a thought or a belief. This ignorant congressman probably meant 'paranoid delusion'. Why can't the ruling party of India keep someone who can speak something sensible as their spokesman and not a buffoon who creates opportunities for others to laugh at the nation?

Congress,as a ruling party in power has done it again, timid response to China^'s future, strategic power games. by Dr.Rajhans Dave on 13 Aug 2009

Dear all,See, how the party spoke person shri.Manish Tiwari is insulting an intelectual, having some real perception about China`s intentions and diplomatic designs, in encircling India by their supported and propped up regimes.Only congress party members and spoke persons(sychophants) are only intelectuals to be counted, others are paranoid or may be drastically ill minded! We know, what happened in Nehru ara, China agressed, captured our land and humiliated all nationalist, patriotic Indian citizen, after having "Panchsheel" agreement.Indian democracy does not belong to one (congress) party^´s rule.Congress has that kind of "Delusion of Grandeur".Congress is doing again,in state of denial, does not to see the dangerous game plan of China to ridicule and humiliate India. Most recently,China won`t accept Indian Goverment`s memorandum to outcast JeSH Mohmd. in UN.On Independence day"once we were cheated, deceived and sacrificed our people,-brave soldiers,no more second time to be insulted"

Chinese Whisper by kk on 13 Aug 2009

It appears our government has not learned the lesson over 1962 war which killed Nehru. This Congress is more interested in bringing BJP down instead of sorting out the security and Chinese/Pakis.This perception of paranoid hallucination is the immagination of Congress.Chinese will not allow if it was directed at Pakistan. So wake up secular congress before Chinese disintegrate India. Pakis and Chinese are financing and breeding terrorists coming to our country and we are determined to import many time more than we are exporting to China.Stop all this cheap rubbish from China otherwise we will have fake labels on everything India export.

"Remember the NOSTRADAMUS saying" by gymnostruth on 13 Aug 2009

This reminds me of the book on Nostradamus I read in High School. If China wants to wage a war against India-there awaits the WORLD WAR III...WHERE are the INDIAN think tanks......?

The policies of Congress party and UPA will achieve the same outcome. by Hary Nambiar on 13 Aug 2009

Paranoia of an insignificant individual does not get published in a think tank journal without similar thoughts among intelligentsia and party circles which control national policy. Actively aiding hostile neighbors, encircling rivals with deep water ports, nuclear sub marine and tactical air force bases, dumping toxins, inferior goods, inferior medicines, using illegal labels, insurgency by separatists, infiltration, subversion, printing counterfeit currency, free trades, bird flue, swine flue, etc are strategic warfare. This article is intended to sow seeds of disunity and to gauge the reaction among separatists, Communists, Maoists, secularists and politicians who have clout in the regional caste based politics,. Chinese intelligentsia is deeply aware that if Hindu religion, which is the only unifying force in India is destroyed, it is easy to disintegrate India. The secular policies and other programs of the Congress party and its UPA allies will achieve exactly that outcome.

Pygmies with pygmi thoughts ! by chanakya on 13 Aug 2009

Communists always dream. Some of them more loudly . Poor china think tank has forgotten that now this is not 1960s where lamb like leaders couldn't put up fight with this dragon. Now this is nuclear powered India which can bomb this dragon out of shape if it comes to that. Well both may have to go out of existence, that is another matter but as long as last Indian lives he will vouch to put bomb on their wall. If china really spaeks in this attitude then it is a wakeup call for every one. That means the old dictator attitudes have not gone still and countries like Japan and US must be careful about this.

Inside - out by deepak on 13 Aug 2009

I think, instead of defending and giving irrational statements, the congress party and its government should address all the vulnerabilities in the "INTERNAL SECURITY" first, which is clearly highlighted in the Chinese statements. I thank the person who wrote the acrticle on the Chinese site and hope that "ever illusioned" congress does something concrete about it.

The Kiss by Abhijay Kumar Jha on 13 Aug 2009

The hiss of the dragon is as deadly as its kiss.China did give a feel of its death kiss in 1962 today it is hissing and it would be naïve on our part to underestimate the Chinese threat.China’s String of pearls is tightening its noose around India.Given the stake in the world and Asia in particular India has fewer reasons why it should not take Chinese threat seriously.Given our intelligence(remember it was some sheperds who who reported Kargil intrusion) and diplomatic(Menon is accused of bad drafting of Indo-Pak Joint statement) track record we just can’t rely on them completely. It is true China is playing mind game and testing the waters and we must reply China in their coin by making statements about Tibet or Xinjiang. These are China’s Achilles heels and any refernce of these greatly upsets China. It is the China alone who could defeat China.

Disintegration of India----- by romesh.sharma on 13 Aug 2009

This report from Chinese Think-Tank appears to be very complicated intrigue which is anti-India and same time a warning which is positive for India but only if the ruling Govt takes it seriously.China like rest of the world knows India's internal conflicts, problems of separatism, fast increasing Naxal threat which can be called home-terrorism and of course widening divisions among communities. This all has turned India into weak state ruled by weakest Govt and that makes China more bold to play mischieves to create more fears and uncertainty among people.Through this China wants to keep India perpatually engaged in internal conflicts which will hinder to exert energies into creative/progressive field. It may not stop but definitely slows down pace of developement greatly.Contrary to that if Congress denounces its silly policies of Party interests and work for National interests this is blessing in disguise. They must take it seriously that there is can be disintegration and save the Nation

united india can face any country in the world by vijay on 13 Aug 2009

India needs to unite more inside and raise above all difference in religion and culture , we need some leader who needs to do this. behind every revolution there will be one man. so i hope some leader in India will to raise and at least try for uniting- Mera Bharat Mahan

What is wrong with this idea? by Raj Thackrey on 13 Aug 2009

I do not understand what is wrong with the idea of spliting india. It will only develop infrastructure and reduce corruption, states will rely on their own economy rather than being a liability on other states. The army which demands money in no different than extorsion. But most people are brain washed by the government in the name of patriotism.

CHINA PLANS to balkanise INDIA by Rajesh Vyas on 13 Aug 2009

The Congress can do us a great favour. The high command of Congress should remove Mr. Manish Tiwari and Ms. Jayanthi Natarajan as their spokespersons. They generally do not know what they are talking about. I am sure Congress has many high calibre people like Abhisek Manu Singhvi and Kapil Sibal. Let someone of high calibre replace mediocres like the Manish Tiwaris and Jayanthi Natarajans

China awaits India's break up by john jacobs on 13 Aug 2009

The Chinese think tank's policy suggestions to its Govt how to unravel India into smaller nation states could be dismissed as delusions of a private individual only at the risk of missing the subtle message directed at India. That such a thought was allowed to be expressed in an official journal of some degree is not without intent.Coming closely on heels of the Naval Chief's cry of helplessness, the omen to befall India as predicted in the Chinese journal must have raised some eye brows which MEA have promptly dismissed as not representing the official view of China. The Chinese however, have put on notice unobtrusively of its fascination for the buffer states and Assam. Congress says it has proper assessment of threats posed to the country. That must be very reassuring.

Congress, Nehru, China and poor India by Ajay Date on 13 Aug 2009

There is a famous saying in US- Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me! In India it would be - Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me! Fool me thrice, I am Congress!

security by sarath on 13 Aug 2009

These comments are similar to the assurances we got from our leaders before our neighboring country attacked us and took a large part of land in 1962.The article should be an eye opener for our leaders and look into serious issues related to our national security.

Indian Delhi babus wake up from sleep! by Rajendran PK, kwt on 13 Aug 2009

This is warning from China, they are more stronger than India and its govt. more strongest than US since they are not following democracy. The communist party in China is deciding who wants to rule China. And hence, the decisions or planning comes from such a govt. cannot expect a democratical way of acceptance but similar to "Hitler" or "Napoleon" or a "Fascist" way can observe. They did not wait for any international body to accept their views before their actions and hence, whatever will be their action and thinking to be taken very seriously. They got only independence in the year 1949, 2 years later than India, but, they are more powerful and advance than India in any aspects, like wealth, GDP, literacy, social life, or in individual life, etc.. Now Indian Congress party lead by Mrs.Sonia

CHINA ROW by Rajesh Vyas on 13 Aug 2009

The Congress CHINA policies during the Nehru Regime have been disasters!!!! The country has paid dearly for the NEHRU/MENON follies. Let us take the Chines threat of Balkanisation of India very seriously and not push it under the rug as is the wont with the Congress. Our Northeast is a very disturbed area and the Chinese are capable of Balkanising India with the help of the disgruntled elements. CHINA IS OUR MOST DANGEROUS AND TREACHEROUS NEIGHBOUR.

Why no diplomatic protest by Devendra Patel on 13 Aug 2009

but why our government has not registered a diplomatic protest with China? Why Congress is busy giving explanation on behalf of China?

Need to look with Trust and Mutual Respect by Raj on 13 Aug 2009

China and its think tanks should worry more about social unrest in their provinces like Tibet, Xinjiang(urumqi). China's discomfort with Taiwan and its unease with Japan are major obstacles to its rise as power. Its highly contaminated exports food and goods like toys, milk and personal hygine products have been recieved negatively in rest of the world. Its environmental pollution has reached alarming proportion.Chinese need to know that India is not banana republic and should look towards us with mutual respect and trust.

India united by Rajat on 13 Aug 2009

India has been divided into Pakistan, Bangladesh by divisive politics of England. Now some Tom, Brick and Harry want to divide India again. The statement by this person pro parasite rat are deliberately given round the Independence Day so that we Indian react to it. India is never anti China but if the war is imposed on us we will defeat them and make Tibet and many other states free from Chinese oppression.

India United--- by romesh.sharma on 13 Aug 2009

Like to hear such encouraging words from you but let us stay by the facts. As the matter of fact no one ever wins the war which is cause of destruction through malevolent passions, ultimately results into retrogression of every art. That was once upon a time but today with possession of nukes makes may cause anihilation or such a great loss of life that man will have to start life like cave-men once again.Thie kind of war is not only unjustified, unlawful,a greatest sin(the like USAmericans are committing)and inhuman. But a diplomatic war through deception by fabricated despatches porporting to come from ownside,by tampering internet/electronic media,by spreading false intelligence in news-bulletins and by sending/sneaking into pretended spies distributing false currencies etc are though not leagal but permitted ways in international diplomatic Wars. What to talk of China even Pakistan is far ahead in this treacherous dplomacy.India lingers behind and to win any other war it has to learn and win this War of propaganda and ambuscade.True India is not anti-China but Indian politicians themselves are anti-India and the cause and reason of every embarrassment.
