The 32-member delegation led by Chairperson of VMC Meesala Geetha was made aware of the functioning by the MC mayor Pardeep Chhabra.
Chhabra said the water distribution system in the city would soon be computerised to ensure 24 hours of water supply to the residents.
Briefing the delegation about the city’s sanitation system, he said that Chandigarh has been declared as the cleanest city in the country in respect to the cleanliness of roads, efficiency of garbage disposal system, dustbins in public place and cleanliness of public toilets.
Chhabra said that to make the different sectors of the city free from garbage bins, Sehaj Safai Kendras have been constructed at 20 locations and work is on at 21 other locations. He also said that mechanical road sweeping is being introduced in the city.
While speaking about the infrastructure in nearby villages of the city, the mayor said that in the nine villages that have been transferred from the UT Administration to Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, provisions for water supply, sewerage, storm water drainage, roads, parks at par with the sectors will be made.
The chairperson of the VMC, Meesala Geetha also apprised the functioning of their corporation to the officials of the MC.
