Kundan Vidya Mandir
At Kundan Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines today, the classrooms were beautifully decorated with buntings, balloons and flowers, to make the children feel special. Ranjana Dhanda and Annu Sehra, incharges of Nursery and Primary sections respectively, made arrangements to make it a special and unique day for the tiny tots. In Primary and Middle sections, a drawing competition was organized for all classes .The children expressed their creativity and artistic skills on the topics, Children’s Day, Landscape, Any Festival and Picnic.
Rajindra Model School
Children’s day was celebrated in Rajindra Model Senior Secondary School, Haibowal Kalan, by Adhar foundation and Lions Club (Decent). Ravinder Arora (Director, Adhar Foundation) presided over the function.
MGM Public School
There were celebrations galore at MGM Public School to mark Children’s Day. The students of KG wing presented a cultural programme last evening, which showcased the talents of the students. The tiny tots presented a fascinating ramp show choreographed by their teachers. The programme also included a fancy dress competition, in which the children dressed as fairies, flowers, police, Chacha Nehru etc.
The result of the fancy dress competition is as follows: Pre-Nursery: Jaskaran, Aviraj Singh. Nursery: Rosedeep, Sushant. KG 1: Muskan ,Bhavya. KG 2: Vatsal Bucha, Himani. Director Gajjan Singh Thind and Principal Suman Arora blessed the children.
Lord’s Divine Public School
At Lord’s Divine Public School, Grewal Colony, Noorwala Road, the celebrations started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The children sang Vande Matram. The function was presided over by Principal H C Gupta.
Ryan International School
Children’s Day was celebrated at Ryan International School with great joy and enthusiasm. Various activities were organised by the teachers. The Montessori kids had a special assembly and enjoyed stories. For primary and senior classes, cricket and football matches were organized between the students and teachers. The students enjoyed a magic show as well. A special assembly was conducted by the teachers, which was filled with music and dance, and each and every teacher was took part in it. They presented various advertisements with social messages.
Dr Ranjit International School
Dr Ranjit International School, Jassian Road, Haibowal Kalan, celebrated Children’s Day with great enthusiasm on the campus. The children were dressed up like Chacha Nehru and they also performed a cultural programme. The students sang patriotic songs and gave speeches on the life of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Samiksha, Kanika, Kavita and Shaina sang a group song on the occasion.
Jesus’ Sacred Heart School
Fun and frolic reigned at Jesus’ Sacred Heart School, South City at the Children’s Day celebrations. Students of Class VII and VIII danced on folk songs. Some dressed as Chacha Nehru, and spread the message of love and universal brotherhood. Students of Class IX staged a skit, stressing upon the need to curb the menace of child labour and female-foeticide.
Sat Paul Mittal School
Sat Paul Mittal School celebrated Children’s Day to commemorate the 118th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of free India. The school campus rocked with excitement as the children participated in a number of competitions. The children dressed innovatively as spiders, pandits, Lord Shiva, Tarzan, Chak De India, etc, and introduced themselves with great confidence. The primary and middle school children participated in various competitions which included group songs, solo songs and solo dances, colouring and on-the-spot drawing and painting, and clay modelling competitions.
St Bawra Public High School
Children’s Day was celebrated with great zeal at St Bawra Public High School, New Lajpat Nagar. Teachers threw light on the life and achievements of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Quiz and poem recitation competitions were held too. Students from all classes participated in the contests with enthusiasm. The main attraction of the day was rides of Mickey Mouse and other jumping jacks, organized by the school authorities especially for the children.
Kid’s Land Playway School
Kid’s Land Playway School and Daycare Centre celebrated Children’s Day with enthusiasm. A puppet show was organised by a Rajasthani group, and children enjoyed it very much. They learnt many stories through puppets. A poem competition was organised too. Dev Kalia, former head of a department at PAU, was the judge. Nimanjot got the first prize, Ananya got the second prize, and there was a tie between Dhriti and Vasu for the third prize. Dhruvika and Divyanshi were first and second runner up.
BIS Public School
BIS (M) Senior Secondary Public School held a function to celebrate Children’s day. About 120 students from Nursery to Class I took part in the celebrations. Students were dressed in colourful fancy dresses. Principal Aneeta Kundra highlighted the importance of Children's’ Day.
SDP Model School
A function was organised on the eve of children Day at Om Parkash Gupta SDP Model Senior Secondary School. Fancy dress, speech and poem competitions were held to mark the day. The students spoke on the life of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru. Principal Dr Sanjeev Bindra, president Balraj Bhasin and Director S Verma were present. They distributed school uniforms to the needy students. The Principal thanked the guests and congratulated the students on the occasion.
Green Grove Public School
The students of Green Grove Public School, Mohanpur, Khanna, celebrated Children’s Day with great pomp and show. They came dressed in various beautiful attires. A quiz was organized on Chacha Nehru, and students were asked questions on his life. An English group song competition was held to celebrate the occasion. A skit was also presented by the students showing various incidents of Chacha Nehru’s life.
