Research award
Dr Deepali Vijay Mhaske, asst. professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry department, JSPM's Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy and Research, Tathawade has been awarded the P.D.Sethi award for the First Best Paper during the year 2007. The research article entitled was Stability Indicating HPTLC method for determination of irbesartan.The research work was done under the guidance of Dr S R Dhaneshwar, Prof and Head, Poona College of Pharmacy. The award was sponsored by Anchrom enterprises (India) Pvt Ltd. Mumbai.

Pooja excels
Pooja Shinde has secured first rank in Sir Parshurambhau (SP) college in the MA examination of the University of Pune. Majoring in Philosophy Pooja has secured 79.25 percent. Pooja intends to study further to pursue a Ph D in philosophy.

Student scholarship
Child support program trust of America has announced scholarship to students belonging to economically weaker families. Students who have passed the twelfth standard exam with 60 percent marks or pursuing higher studies in any field through Government recognized colleges and institutes with a family income of rupees 60000 are eligible to apply. The last date for submission of forms is August 8.

Forging ahead
The International School of Business and Media spearheaded a three-day event Forza to celebrate its anniversary for the eighth year. Sandeep Mukherjee, ex-director Price Waterhouse Coopers and RS Chopra, managing director Piaggio Greave pvt ltd Peg group, inaugurated the event.

With a theme as rebevation, a combination of rebellion and salvation the three-day event had a total of 28 activities. A corporate walk included a number of corporates like Hanoz Mogrelia, director SatchI & Satchi, Prakash Rajalkar, coo, Gtl, and Vinod Bharadwaj from Voltas. The event also included corporate quiz, spelling bee, a dance called Aja nachle, performances from the 50s and 70s and Indian and western dance performances. Over 1500 students participated in the event.

Blood donation camp
Pranay a social initiative started by Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies is organising a blood donation camp in association with DeenaNath Hospital and Symbiosis Centre For Health Care (SCHC). The camp will be held from 9 am to 3 pm at Symbiosis Intitute of Management studies,Range hills. Pranay has organised events like medical Camps for women and children, AIDS awareness campaigns, Pune walkathon and blood donation camps.

Business event
The Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) conducted an entrepreneurship event the-Lock, Stock and Trade(LST) 2008 on July 26. The Keynote address was given by Rahul Patwardhan, vice chairman & managing director, India Co. Ventures Ltd. Several subjects were discussed including the Mock IPO simulation concept, real life investable businesses and the business analysts from the MBA programme. LST aims to provide students with guidance from entrepreneurs and venture capitalists on business risks and resource management.
