Ltte attack

Colombo The LTTE said on Saturday that the air strikes carried out by it over capital Colombo killing two people and injuring 54 others were suicide attacks by its elite 'Black Air Tiger' squad.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam said two men from the "Black Air Tiger" suicide squad piloted the two light aircraft that carried out the attack last night.

"The aircrafts dived into Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Headquarters in Colombo and into the SLAF base at Katunayaka at around 0915 pm last night carrying out successful air raids," pro-LTTE website TamilNet.com reported.

However, the Government had claimed on Friday night to have shot down one aircraft and the second one was disabled by the anti air gunfire. It also said the pilot of one aircraft was killed.

TamilNet.com also published a photograph of the two suicide pilots together with Tamil Tigers supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran said to have been taken shortly before they set off on the suicide mission.

Death Throes by Ramachandran on 22 Feb 2009

This cowardly and despicable act be VP, only highlights what the world has known all along reg: the LTTE. Every single attrocity committed by them was /is dictacted by their leader, for his own benifit. And the lower cadres carry out his orders like blind sheep. So, while they die, he lives. That too in luxury. It makes one wonder, whether , at the climax, will VP have the guts to practice what he preaches.....carry out a suicide attack himself. Or, will he just run away, like the coward he actually is. Since, sacrificing innocent and guillable young Tamils, seems to be his Modus Operandi, there is a strong possibility that he will opt for the latter. In the wake of the international community asking the LTTE to lay down arms, they take a last ditch, stupid and pathetic stand to send in two aircraft, thereby only escalating the grave situatinon ( for themselves). How much more demented can anyone get?
