Complaint filed against producers of Jodhaa Akbar

Chandigarh, February 18 A Complaint was filed in a local court today regarding the controversial film Jodhaa Akbar.

The complainants- Akhil Bharatiya Rajput Abhivakta Sangh president Arvind Thakur, Punjab Vishwa Hindu Parishad spokesman Vijay Singh Bhardwaj and International Hindu Sanrakshak Parishad general secretary Shiv Murti Yadav - demanded registration of a criminal case against film censor board chairperson Sharmila Tagore, producers Ronnie Screwvala and Ashutosh Gowariker and UTV Software Company.

They alleged that the movie has hurt the religious sentiments of Rajputs by distorting history.

The complaint was admitted in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Y S Rathore. A civil suit seeking ban on screening the movie was also filed.

Earlier, when the movie was released, several persons owing allegiance to Rajput and Hindu outfits had protested in front of cinemas halls here.
