New Delhi, July 8: Unfazed over Left's decision to withdraw support to the government at the Centre, the Congress attacked the communists on Tuesday for the timing of their decision.

"When the entire nation is mourning those killed in the Kabul blast, the Left has chosen to make the announcement. It is most unfortunate. They think their prestige is more important than the nation's prestige," AICC media department chairman Veerappa Moily said minutes after the Left's announcement.

Party chief Sonia Gandhi not unaware of the Left's stance called an emergency meeting of senior leaders to take stock of the situation.

A meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) is scheduled to be held this evening which will decide on the dates for the monsoon session of Parliament.

The CCPA meeting is being held amid reports that the Government could go in for a trust vote on July 28 during a special session.

Reports from Vienna, the headquarters of IAEA, said the international nuclear watchdog would hold a meeting on July 28 to finalise its rules for India.

Left's decision! by Nyayman on 08 Jul 2008

The Left wanted to keep the communal BJP out of power and hence offered to support the UPA govt. from outside. They kept their distance right through! In short, they were never a part of it!And they came to believe that they formed the axle of the UPA's wheel! If they withdrew their support the UPA will be be finshed! Hence,at a critical juncture of UPA, they decided to dump it!! Help came to the beleagured UPA from the most undreamt soucrce- the SP! Now, as never before, the Left feels isolated! The teaser atlast got well teased!Further," for the first time since 1996- when the United Front government was in power for two years - its(Left's) role in national politics will be severely curtailed!"

Kabul incident and N deal by anil bharali on 08 Jul 2008

In begining of N deal, after stategic alliance US spokeman expressed their willingness to engage India in Afghanistan.RecentKabul incident may be a repurcation of that. Now let us see what is going to happen .Left is definitely going to withdraw the support but to me it will be not right to join BJP in no cofidence motion if it comes.

Cheap tactics by congress by Srinivas on 08 Jul 2008

Death of Indians in the embassy bombings is very tragic. However, linking that to left's withdrwal of support makes no sense. If the govt. considers the issue is so important they should have declared national mourning. Have they done that? bringing this tragedy into politics shows congress culture.

mourning by kora on 08 Jul 2008

linking it to lefts decision is only for congress convenience. has manmohan singhji convyed his condolences? if congress is so worried about any decision what the country's PM doing in Japan now during this tragedy. When japan had an earthquake, the PM who was visiting abroad promptly returned. why moily is relating it to such decisions.

Mourning ! by Dr Vinoy K Sinha on 08 Jul 2008

This is the height of hypocrisy. Indian politicians mourning the death of Indians killed by jehadis !It's we the people who are mourning the death of our men in Kabul.Political animals are totally devoid of such tender feelings. They have been politicking in their drawing rooms. The Congress camp as well as the BJP camp-they are all engaged in the game of saving and toppling the govt.If they were so concerned about the safety of our men in Kabul why didn't they demand fool-proof security arrangements for our men working over there? Why was the Bunker which was earlier constructed, demolished later? The embassy staff were so terrified that they used to park their vehicles in the compound of the adjoining Indonesian embassy ! I don't understand as to why at all we should have a mission there under such circumstances? They are mourning the death of our embassy staff in Kabul !Only this morning I saw the picture of a smiling Manmohan Singh in the company of the Chinese Prime Minister in papers!

N Deal by thomas on 08 Jul 2008

Many are blaming left but one thing everybody should keep in mind that left is supporting congress for ruling the country not selling. If congress need support they should agree with some suggestions made by left. Not like give support and we will rule according to our wish. Many are supporting N Deal. did any body explain what is exactly agreed in IAEA. Even mukarjee told it cannot be made to public. So don’t rush to Deal listen to all criticism and scientists word and try to negotiate with US . let it not be one sided or be problem to India in future like Iran, Iraq.

Left Front Pull out by A.G. Vijay on 08 Jul 2008

It doesn't matter if left front pull out it's support now, the writing is on the wall for the left, I think the sunset of left is being seen. This blackmail of left as not worked. As as been said Prakash Karat who has never one a municipal election as got all his tartegies worng. Now we forsee a two party democarcy in India. Let it be either Congress led UPA or BJP led NDa it would be good for the country rather than both BJP and Congress seek support of a Pro China west.Congress has shown them their tru colour, Left as been always a spanner in teh progress of the country. All their party leader are above 80 and their barins have evaporated. Kick them out

congress by kelkar on 08 Jul 2008

timing is bad for the left to convey this decision. what congress has done for the victims in the incident. mourning for whom they have done. they dont have any mourning, even if their ex PM dies. just to point a finger at somebody, they say something. the ethical standard of congress is at the lowest ebb. hope BJP will come in the next election. though congress tied up in UP with SP, with the BJP and BSP gaining strength, this tie up for them is matter of survival. if they get 5 seats out of 40 they contest, good. this time soniaji also will lose her deposit at Amethi.

Brainless Commies by Danda on 08 Jul 2008

Veerappa Moily is the most corrupt and immoral creature in India. I have personal experience. Why Manmohan Singh is enjoying and sucking up to Bush, Chinese and others in Japan ? Why he has not lost his sleep ? There can not be more immoral and corrupt than Congies. Commies have firmly painted themselves in the corner. If they vote with BJP, they are worst communals because that what they were saying for the last 4.5 years about BJP but if not then deal will be signed and sealed. These are the brainless WB, Kerala and Tripurs elect.

NDEAL by T. Shanmugam, Sydney on 08 Jul 2008

Left announcing the withdrawal of support to the Govt., when the PM is in a foreign country, hoping to meet important world leaders on the morrow, is nothing short of betryal. They all are traitors to the core, and the country should remember this at the time of Lok Sabha elections. One also hopes, that the UPA and other supporting parties like SP and others, are able to cobble up the numbers in the Lok Sabha at the time of the confidence vote. The PM is stabbed in the back by the Left just a day before he is scheduled to meet Pre. Bush and other world leaders. What a pity !

"When the entire nation is mourning those killed in the Kabul blast" by Jignesh Shah on 08 Jul 2008

Mr.Moily....This does not become a good congressman!!!! Look who's talking, you ar eno different from the left....why ....you had your 4 years in power bash in Delhi ....10 days after the deadly Jaipur Blasts!!!!!You are equally bad....Mr. Moily....Anyways...one set of crooks (the Left) have gone now....its your turn now....so start counting your final days in power.

mourning by madhok on 08 Jul 2008

mr moily, can you tell soniaji and dr manmohanji to say a few words of mourning. you blame left for the timing. what your pm is doing in japan not even sending a condolence or mourning. why he is enjoying there when our attache, a govt reprsentative is killed. dont boast of yourself as a crusader of humanity. butchers all along you and your party.

Cong hits out at left by oldindian on 08 Jul 2008

It is not matter of prestige for left. It is question of their survival. Remember their bosses sitting across borders. Commies have to show them that they are doing all they can to sabotage the deal. May be we are all wrong... their bosses may not be china but their erstwhile bosses - the british. but one thing for sure. Commies dont give a damn for india. Talking about martyrdom in kabul, left would argue, infact but for the current showdown congress too would have argued that blaming the militants would hurt the sentiments of minorities. Remember all these guys are secular!

Moily trying to muddle up things by Chetan on 08 Jul 2008

There is no relation whatsover to the bombings and this incident.Moily is trying to gain moral high ground by mixing up things.
