Lucknow, September 16: Setting the stage for the biggest electoral drama of country to unfold in Uttar Pradesh – the hotbed of Indian politics, Congress seems all set to give the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat hustings a Bollywood colour.

"Names of Sanjay Dutt, Govinda and Shabana Azmi are there in the list of probables for the prestigious Lucknow seat, represented by BJP stalwart A B Vajpayee," party sources said in Lucknow.

Congress had earlier planned to field former Union minister of state for steel Akhilesh Das from the Lucknow seat but he switched loyalties to BSP and will be contesting from the said seat on the party ticket.

In view of possible alliance with Samajwadi Party, Congress wants to ensure that the seat is bagged by their candidate and for this it has zeroed in on three high profile names -- Sanjay Dutt, Shabana Azmi and Govinda, he said.

"Samajwadi party is also staking its claim on the seat, but we will try to have this seat in our quota," he said.

Sanjay Datt, a convicted felon by K. Shah on 18 Sep 2008

Does Congress have any standard for the people representing the party? Sanjay is a felon, a convicted one by the court, deserves to be in the Andaman Nicobar jail (Kala Pani) for a very, very long time. I do not want him to be in the Parliament. India needs a law to ban all criminals, past and presents, all felons from holding any public office at any level.

WHY THIS FUSS IS FOR? by rakesh on 17 Sep 2008

WHY EVERYONE IS FEELING JEALOUS OF SANJU BABA. HE HAS STRONG CREDENTIALS NUMBER ONE HE HAS EXECUTED BOMBAY BOMBING VERY SUCCESSFULLY WHICH KILLED 227 HINDUS MORE THAN ANY OTHER BOMBING. SECOND HE IS SON OF NARGIS KHAN A MUSLIM BY RELIGION. THIRD HE HAS BEEN TO JAIL SEVERAL TIMES. SO I ASK WHY THIS FUSS IS FOR ? THEN TELL ME WHO HAS BETTER CREDENTIALS. SHIBU SOREN MIGHT KILLED 130 PEOPLE IN HIS WHOLE LIFE BUT SANJAY IS SUCH A TALENTED GUY WHO CAN KILL 200-300 PEOPLE IN ONE GO. SO WHY EVRYONE IS QUESTIONING? EVEN I WOULD SAY HE IS BETTER THAN HONORABLE AFJAL GURU. BECAUSE RESPECTED AFJAL SIR COULD NOT EVEN KILL 20-30 PEOPLE , THAT WAS FAIL OPERATION.

Congress Powe by gourav on 16 Sep 2008

If a prostitute becomes famous, Congress will not hesitate to field it in the elections.. No wonder the party of pet dogs and slaves has led to the current situation in India.. Amazing how these parties will not not think of candidates who will work for the people of that constituency... Shameless politicians, they won't hesitate to sell their mothers for power
