"At the meetings held in Delhi, the differences over sharing portfolios, including the number of ministries to be held by each party, have been sorted out and the new government looks set to be sworn in at Raj Bhawan here tomorrow," NCP sources said.
Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and Ahmad Patel, political secretary to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, played a key role in resolution of the differences between the two parties, the sources said while declining to reveal the details of the compromise formula reached in Delhi.
Patel had last night told reporters in the national capital that the impasse will end on a positive note by today. Governor S C Jamir had on Tuesday summoned caretaker Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal for consultations, telling them it was their responsibility to form a government without delay.
The Governor had reminded Chavan and Bhujbal that since the Maharashtra electorate had given them a fresh mandate, it was their responsibility to respect it and complete the exercise of government formation without further waste of time.

Poiticians are in politics for one reason and that is to grab political office and steal money. It does not matter what party they belong to, they are all thieving criminals. They all keep and patronize goondas to grab votes and also to protect their rotten hides because a criminal has to protect himself or herself from people he or she has wronged. What you have just seen in Maharashtra is a fight between street dogs for juicy pieces of meat. You are being ruled over by hungry stray dogs.
The fight between the dogs for the bone seems to be over. Who has managed to bite off the head of the bone is yet to be seen.
After all, it was no good developement in the democracy. The delay in taking oath shows politics opportunitism which does not suit congress ideology. Now, to remove bad impression left on ppl's mind, DF (Democratic Front) should provide clean politics by fulfilling commitment they promissed to the ppl before elections. We wish a very bright future to the ppl of Maha. Cong needs to shut mouth of Narendra Modi who is boasting development of Guj. Guj is small state compare to Maha & Guj & Maha are among developed states since their existance.
It is shame on us(the people of Maharashtra) that we have elected such a government again, which fights for the plum cabinet. Both the parties are selfish and want best ministries for better future. Wake up Maharashtra!!! Third time we have voted blindly...Is this the democracy we want??Shame Shame Government of Maharashtra and Shame on us.
Only a few people like you and me feel ashamed of being ruled over by such third-rate politians elected by equally third-rate ,selfish and politically ignorant voters of our motherland. We can do nothing but to suffer in silence this ignominy for many decades more.
