kolkata, April 25 The North 24 Parganas police arrested an alleged contract killer and his three accomplices from Mollahati village near the Bangladesh border on Friday morning.

Swapan Sardar, 42, and the others had assembled in a house in the village to make plans for new strikes, the police said. Acting on a tip-off, the Gopalnagar police in Bongaon subdivision of North 24 Parganas raided the house and made the arrests.

Swapan was carrying a revolver and 24 rounds of ammunition. The police also recovered about 20 kg of ganja from his possession. Two pipeguns were seized from his associates.

Swapan has five murder cases registered against him, which he had allegedly committed in lieu of money.
