Rotarian Dr Vijay Obed, president of the club, said that Dr Bhangoo hails from Ayali village near Ludhiana. He graduated from East Africa and then received his surgical training in the UK; and plastic and cosmetic surgery training in the USA. He is presently Chief of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery at Mercy Hospital, Buffalo; and Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery, State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dr Bhangoo described the various aspects of cosmetic surgery in great detail. He talked about cosmetic surgery of the nose, breast, eyelids, eyebrows, face lift, tummy tuck, liposuction, etc. He explained all this with photographs using electronic presentation. He discussed the various positive and negative points regarding cosmetic surgery.
He highlighted that cosmetic surgery is safe and give good results so that the patient looks good and feels good. He emphasized that cosmetic surgery should be carried out by only those who have been actually trained to do so.
Dr Vijay Obed reported that the talk and the discussion shared by Dr Bhangoo were highly appreciated by all the club members and the guests. Plastic surgeons from Ludhiana also attended the meeting. The talk was followed by many questions from the members. Dr Bhangoo answered all of them to the satisfaction of the members.
