Mumbai A fast track court adjourned the trial against actor Shiney Ahuja, accused of raping his domestic maid, till November 16, seeking clarification from the defence and prosecution on an order passed by the Bombay High Court staying the framing of charges.

The High Court had on October 6 stayed the framing of charges against the actor after defence lawyer Shrikant Shivade approached the court seeking copies of the forensic and medical reports of the victim and the actor.

Additional sessions Judge S R Trivedi today sought clarification after observing that the High Court said the framing of charges should be stayed only for a week.

The court has directed Shivade and the public prosecutor to file affidavits by November 16 clarifying the High Court order.

Shivade had sought copies of the reports stating that the DNA samples of the victim does not match with that of the actor.

Police had on August 13 filed a 109-page chargesheet against the actor accusing him of rape, wrongful confinement and intimidation.

The chargesheet consisted of medical reports which indicated Shiney had sexual intercourse with his maid. Thirty six-year-old Shiney was arrested on June 15 after his maid lodged a complaint with suburban Oshiwara police station that the actor had raped her at his residence.

The wife and child of the actor were not at home when the alleged incident occurred.
