The CBI Director, who was in the city today to attend a seminar, said this while answering to a query if the CBI changes its stand with the change in the Central government.
When asked that his predecessor Joginder Singh had on numerous occasions said Rajiv Gandhi was the main accused in the Bofors case, but CBI gave him a clean chit after Congress came to power at the Centre, he said, "Ask Joginder Singh, who said this."
Talking to Indian Express, about the much talked about Aarushi Talwar murder case, which is lying pending with the CBI for more than a year, he said, "Usually murders have some mysteries and it takes time to solve them. The case is sub-judice."
Speaking on the occasion, Supreme Court of India judge Justice DK Jain Judge appealed to advocates to consider starting evening courts.
He exhorted NGOs, teachers, parents and panchayats to start awareness campaign to educate people about the disastrous affects of intoxicants. He further said the fatal evil has spread in every part of the country with seven out of 10 students becoming habitual drug addicts. He said it was the duty of parents to supervise and control to their children to go night clubs and discos.
Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice Tirath Singh Thakur said the society should work together to prevent drug abuse and it is need of the hour to curb the menace of addiction among the youth of the state.
