Recent works of eight artists including Shibu Arakkal, Ajay Dhandre, Bara Babu Mahto, come together for the show Concrescence. There has been a significant acceleration towards the globalisation of culture and creativity. The artists, on their parts, have intensified their persistent desire to experiment with new forms and tools. They explore art trends from the recent past to the near future. They look for responses, and present not only vast, informative displays but work almost as laboratories for interpreting knowledge.

Landscapes in watercolour
Wide Angle is an exhibition of watercolour landscapes by painter Prashant Prabhu. His paper works take aerial views of rustic locations, with the vision always remaining distant and dreamlike. His colour-washes have the blues of monsoon skies and the greens of verdant fields, providing the viewer with a refreshing view of the world.

Talkathon
Noted art historian Tapat Guha Thakurta will deliver a lecture demonstration on Artistic Nationalism and Modernism. Featuring the works of artists Abanindranath Tagore and Yokoyama Takikan, Guha will delve into the somewhat forgotten exchange between the intellectuals of Japan and Bengal. Titled ‘Dialogues in

Nationalism and Modernism’ it foregrounds the cultural exchange between the two. The second lecture will focus on locating Gandhi in art history through the art works of Nandilal Bose and Ramkiner Baij. There is a registration fee of Rs 1,000 for this talk.
