New Delhi, November 13 THE state government will showcase Delhi Transport Corporation’s new low- floor buses at the Delhi Pavilion in the India International Trade Fair on Wednesday.

One of DTC’s newly acquired Tata low floor buses is going to run a free service from the Delhi pavilion at this year’s Trade Fair. Also on display will be a newly erected Bus Q Shelter built by Jindal Steel.

DTC has acquired 12 new low floor disabled friendly buses this month and the officials said that running the bus at the Trade Fair will help familiarise people with the functioning of these buses. Thanks to mishandling of the hydraulic doors — the bus can move only if the doors are closed — two of the buses had stopped moving on the day of their inaugural run.

“The last time, we showcased a model of the low floor bus at the Delhi pavilion. This year, we are showcasing the actual bus. Disabled passengers will easily be able to travel on these buses. It will also familiarise the public with how the doors and other features work in the buses,” said DTC Chairman Anshu Prakash.

Meanwhile, with at least 30 more low floor buses set to arrive in the Capital by the end of the year, DTC has finalised more routes for these buses. Currently, 10 buses run on route 500 (Shivaji Stadium to Haus Khas).

Ten buses are expected to run on route 47 (Inderpuri to Lajpat Nagar via Defence Colony) while the rest of the buses will run on the Mudrika Route.
