Charging that the future of children in UP was being “spoilt” for lack of education, Rahul promised to make all-out efforts to bring back a Congress government which would focus on education which is at the core of development.
Addressing a function on social harmony here, he said “on my visits to Uttar Pradesh schools, I have found that the condition of Dalit students is very bad in government-run schools and these students are only confined to back benches”.
“A similar pitiable condition was there when I visited today a Dalit brother who makes shoes and asked him as to what help he got from the government”, Rahul said adding this scene was common everywhere he visits--be it schools, industrial units or villages under the government which is said to be that of Dalits .
Rahul, who earlier visited a slum of Dalits and interacted with women and children and had tea with them, said “their real future lies in education and this sector needs all the focus”.
“Without good education a child cannot rise, cannot get employment and he would keep wandering all his life”, Rahul said and asked why with a government of Dalits in place Dalit children are found sitting in back benches.
“In UP, the future of children is being spoiled for lack of education and the focus should be on their future by providing them enough educational opportunities”, he said.
Rahul said development comes through education and he would make all-out efforts so that Congress can form the next Congress government in the state.
Referring to allegations that Congress appoints its leaders from Delhi, Rahul cited the example of Punjab and Uttrakhand where youth congress and NSUI leaders were being chosen by workers and said the same pattern would be followed in UP.

Rahul's comment can be considered as that from an Amul baby. BSP was in rule for less than 6 month tenures previously. Now only they came with majority. Rahul's family party was ruling all these years. Why they were unable to uplift Dalits, bring them to front bench. Why the couldn't create a Dalit CM. Gandhi desired only for a Dalit President not a Prime minister, bcoz President is only a rubber stamp.Dalit's constitute 30 % of Indian population and should unite and grab their share of power and wealth, then only they could live like human being. Now India is ruled by 3% Brahmins(Aryan intruders from central asia - as per historical facts) and their supporting upper hindus who are only 15% of Population.
The story is`same in congress ruled states.Everyone knows that Education is important but hardly anything concrete is done.Politicians only believe in giving speeches and take it for granted that rest would be done by the people which is hardly possible. If they are serious and really want to see that something should be done, they should take bureaucrats with them and ensure that something is done in real terms.
Very true. The future prosperity lies in education only. But who we are reminding it to ? Does it take 60 years of independence to realise this ? I personally request all politicians beaurocrates and the people as well to start acting in real terms atleast from now onwards and rise above short term personal gains. Empty words and hollow slogans will not educate anyone . Lets start doing something in real and contribute whatever we really can from now itself. Why should we wait until the election results and the next government to do so ?
yes he is right. but instead of making political statement, would'nt it be more fruitful to do some real act. to start with he can start nearer home - with DELHI schools. it would be much easier also with pliable and congress CM there. Let us see some action instead of mere rhetoric
