Ajmal Amin, the only militant arrested during the operation, told interrogators that the dozen ultras who sailed from Karachi had come to Sasool dock from where they were taken first to Cuff Parade and later to Gateway of India in boats arranged by a front man of Dawood, who runs several custom clearing houses in Mumbai, the sources claimed.
Mumbai police and central security agencies have launched a massive manhunt for the businessman considered as a henchman of Dawood, who has been listed as Global Terrorist having links to al-Qaeda by the United States.
The suspect looks after some customs clearing mechanism and also indulges in diesel smuggling for the underworld don, the sources claimed.
After getting into waiting boats arranged by Dawood's gang in Mumbai, arms, ammunition and plastic explosives were quickly transferred to the waiting boats that took the terrorists to the Gateway of India which was had been marked as launching pad for the terror strike, the first of its kind in the country terrorism history.
The Intelligence agencies had sent a warning note to Coast Guard to keep a watch for an unidentified Pakistani trawler sailing from Karachi port which may enter into Indian waters. While the coast guard was looking for a Pakistani or unidentified vessel, the terrorists hijacked Indian fishing trawler ‘MV Kuber’ killing its crew and entered the Mumbai seas.
The Coast Guard captured the abandoned vessel which had a Global Positioning System as it was was drifting nearly four nautical miles off the coast of Mumbai on Thursday morning, several hours after the terrorists struck.
The terrorist claimed during interrogation that they had even planned to leave Mumbai back for Karachi, if luck favoured them, the sources said.
This solves the mystery of Global Positioning System instrument located from MV Kuber which was fed with a return map to Karachi, the sources said.
The underworld don's men had also provided a complete pictures of the two hotels and the Chhabad House, which houses the Israelis.
Meanwhile, investigators were going through the call data details downloaded from the satellite phone also recovered from the abandoned trawler.
It revealed numbers that have been traced back to the LeT's ‘chief of operations’, Muzamil.
The terrorists had been in constant touch with their masters across the border and some of the communications have been intercepted by both the army as well as the elite National Security Guards.
The militant said Taj and Trident-Oberoi were selected because the two hotels have a large clientele of Britishers and US citizens besides that a large number of Israeli businessmen had come to Trident for attending a diamond exhibition, the sources said.
The militants were also asked by their ‘masters’ to engage security personnel in negotiation besides throwing grenades.
The two militants holed up in Nariman House had made attempts to hold talks on two occasions, the sources said.

Our security forces and Maha Govt issueing rubbish and un responsible statement. What the intelegiency dept were doing? It means only they are interested in corupt prtatices and later they just blame to Dawood as if only one man in the world and others are wearing the bangles. Terrorism is moving ahead of global warming for the peaceful co-existence of human beings in the modern world. The world leaders must unite in eliminating the dangerous plague from the globe. It is too early to blame the Pakistani Government at this stage, as the country themselves are at the receiving end of what they supported and promoted. However, Pakistan needs to clearly understand that “it simply cannot draw its borders with blood". The Politicians in both countries should bear responsibility for creating gap and hatred between the religions and the communities. Being a Christian Australian of Indian Origin, I have no difficulty in maintaining healthy relationship with many well educated Pakistani Muslims. They all hate Terrorism and love to live in peace as the vast majority of Indians do. I have a vision that with a most modern intelligence wing, India will rise to the challenges, continue to grow and that her politicians will refrain from using religion for political gains.
india should identify and ask Pakistan to act against the identified targets as also ask Pakistan to handover Masood Ashar, Ibrahim Dawood etc. If Pakistan do not agree, we should do the same the Americans did - bomb these camps directly.

My dearest fellow Indians....During the last three days we have witnessed the gruesome and dastardly terrorist acts that took 180 innocent lives in Mumbai. Did they deserve to die..? Did their families deserve the sadness and the unexpected void that would continue to haunt them for the rest of their lives..? Did those innocent children who lost their parents deserve the loneliness these cruel animals handed over to them? No. they didn’t..! There were Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Parsis, and Sikhs amidst the dead and the bereaved? It is time we realized that sorrow like joy has no religion but a deep sense of irreparable loss....and the eternal silence that it creates in a family which is forced to live with that silence..Like all of us, they too deserved a life of joy, of peace and of harmony and like us, they too desired to live life to its full and not to be deprived of it suddenly. Did they deserve it..? No. They didn’t..!
Mr Pakistani, Pls Stop the hypocrisy. We already have enough of them in our politicians. You may as an individual not support terror but your govt,ISI,Army have all supported terror from decades. Whatever happened in Mumbai should be a wakeup call for all those politicians that in the end for us ordinary citizens buildings like Taj, represents solidarity. Somehow I feel that may be just maybe if Col Purohit and the likes of Pragya Thakur were correct in their actions? When the governement fails to act and safeguard their nationals and citizens, isn't it the time for the common soldier to take up action against these barbaric acts of inhumanity. I would also like to point out that in the recent past there has been so many terrorists attack on Indian Soil, it is high time now that we must start educating our children from the day one how to deal when in the crisis. Only if we do that include it in school curriculums we will be able to counter such acts. Let us pray for those who gave their lives in this battle and let us prepare those who have to face this battle in the future. It will not end here and we must prepare our children for the future NOW.
Like Eashwer says, India is no longer a "Third world country" - We should start helping Pakistan by bombing terrorist organisations, outfits and their centres within its border just like the USA does using its drones, as Pakistan unfortunately is unable to do it themselves.
India being a strong and big economy , should demand and dictate terms like how US dictated with Iraq .Prinicples of Non Violence for Terrorism that too at this internet age will be an outdated medicine for this newly invented disease. or else we should discover a new medicine to divert the attention of these terrorists . I asked hundreds of people around me in my city Islamabad who don’t even support the Pakistani Military operations in tribal areas of Pakistan, who talk about Kashmiri peoples rights, who are not at all a supporter of Indians just because of Kashmir Issue, they are shocked with these civilian barbaric killings in Mumbai, Islamist will never kill a women write it down even Bhutto’s death is controversy here still, Blasts are the way they protest but shooting and killing innocent civilians is some thing new. I think one can’t find a single supporter in Pakistan for these innocent civilians’ killings. It’s the time Indian should see elements within their country too blaming Pakistan will take them on the same path they are from years
