Mallika..... here goes it. by ANIYAN on 08 Jan 2009

Sacrifices : Nehru quickly agreed with Kashmiris " you be with India until you desire and later do plebiscite as per UN resolution".. He became PM immediately. This is (1) He gave a promise to Tamil people not to learn Hindi, in order to shut their mouth and for his peaceful life with Mountbattens !!! This is (2). Indira Gandhi grew Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in Punjab and killed him later. This is (3). Sanjay Gandhi forcibly conducted family planning operation on hundreds of bachelors to control the population. This is (4) Took Billions from Bofors. This is (5); Involved in Bangladesh and ceded to Pakistan a major portion of J

New Name for India “Secular Kingdom of Nehru-Gandhi” by Anil Kohli on 08 Jan 2009

The glue of the Nehru-Gandhi name is required to bind together the Slave Dynasty of Modern India.Pranab Babu it is not the divine right of this clan to which you are a slave. By these remarks of yours you have today belittled this country. You are insulting the intelligence of the Indian youth. We are not citizens of the Secular Kingdom of Nehru-Gandhi. We are a democratic country this just to remind you. Do not under estimate the power of the vote. This country needs visionary not immature kids whose claim to fame is the name tag.Comparing your mai baap with Mohanata and Omar is audacious in the least. The above two individual have a track record and the respect of the people. Let your Yuvraj first earn his pip in the heat and dust of real life. The people of this country are not going to forgive your transgression of today. The forthcoming election will deliver a very clear message to you and you buddies.

Hail Congress Party by Indian on 08 Jan 2009

Not only Pranab Mukherji , any congress man will say this since all are ambitious.Pranabji , there is a chance that before that day there is a slight chance for you to be the P.M. Also we should be proud of continuity of our traditions and heritage. Chandra gupta, Samudragupta, Ashoka of Maurya. Babar, Humayun,Akbar,Jehangir, Shajehan, Aurangazeb of Moghuls. Jawaharlal, Indira, Rajiv, Rahul,..... of Nehru.

What great sacrifice? by Mallika on 08 Jan 2009

I read in one of the comments below "the great sacrifice" the Nehru- Gandhi family has made. Could someone please explain to me what sacrifices these are?

How? by Mallika on 08 Jan 2009

Has he given a single interview yet? We have no idea what his stand is on various issues. It's a mockery that anyone with a known last name automatically becomes eligible to hold a post of governance is India. Without a hint of sarcasm or disdain- Mr. Gandhi, what are your qualifications to hold the most important office in the country?

Day nor far when Rahul becomes PM by Dharam Pal on 08 Jan 2009

There is no surprise that Rahul is being groomed to be the PM. With his family lineage it is in him to succeed his great forefathers. However the time has not come just yet. If he has a shot the high post immediately he may find it hard to assimilate the complex problems the country is facing at present. Rajiv was of some other mettle and had succeeded his MOTHER who was a great leader who had passed through turmoils of freedom movement and learnt politics at the feet of very seasoned leaders. If he is put in the post now it will always be said that it is only because of the legacy. Let him earn the honour through hard labours. He has the promise and can prove an asset to the country in whatever capacity he is destined to serve.

Future P.M. by H.Mehta on 08 Jan 2009

If BJP wants to win loksabha election Mr. Narendra Modi shouild be projected as P.M. instead of Advani who is too old to derseve as P.M. and particularly now young voters will reject him against other party's youngman projecting as P.M. Further in all states BJP should fight alone without support of other regional parties and after election if necessary the support can be taken according to circumstances.

RahulGandhi_PM in waiting by Vijay Dewan on 08 Jan 2009

Rahul Gandhi_ the PM in waitingFrom the performance of Rajiv Gandhi who followed his Illustrious mother one would say Rahul can prove an asset. But if he rides on the shoulders of sycophants Rahul will not be a deserving foil to his father who had a very independent mind. Even with his good sense and honest intentions he failed to hold power for long because somewhere he failed to see through the ill designs of unscruplous elements in the party and the Government. Let Rahul gain some more experience and learn to ignore the darbaris.

Pranab speks irrelevant things. by gary on 08 Jan 2009

He speaks too much and unwanted things.

True Congressman by Pankaj Vohra on 08 Jan 2009

Spoken like a true congress man who are still slaves 62 years after independence. Earlier it was goras now its indians with a italian twist.

Rahul.. ?. under what credibility ?? by KP Pillai on 08 Jan 2009

It will be a sad day for Indians, if ever this happens as we are throwing this great, big country, world's largest democracy, into the hands of a kid to toss and play. People like Pranab Kumar Mukherjee should not indulge in such irresponsible statements, given his wisdom, intelligence and maturity. It is a different matter that Congress will not rule this country in the near future; although the finance management of UPA did well. Where is its strength anyway? Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Tripura, UP, MP, HP, Chatisgarh, Gujarat, Orissa, Bihar, Karnataka, Punjab are closed for Congress. Keralla, few seats can be expected this time, from the NIL last time, Andhra cannot be predicted due to Chiranjeevi's emergence and Maharashtra confusion prevails. Rest are few seats of Assam, the tiny, 2 seated N-E states and Pondicherry. Is Pranab in a position to make Rahul PM with some 30-45 seats? My God !! The communists will eat him.

Rahul PM? by "CongressHater" on 08 Jan 2009

Rahul to be PM? Grand old man, what else do you need to ruin this country? This Nehru-Gandhi chamcha probably cannot retain his ministerial position at the center unless he praises the Gandhi family time to time. He is getting too old and unfit to handle the affairs of counry at this crisis and needs to retire and seek asylum. What quality did he see in Rahul that he needs to be fit for a PM someday? Slavery hasn't ended in India, is it??

Nepotism by Rakesh Kumar on 08 Jan 2009

This nepotism is what drags India down. Only sons and daughters of big shot and this case the Gandhi family have the right to rule the 'common man'. Whe will India become a mature democracy when people can aspire to reah the top post despite not having a proper surname.

WHAT IS THE CRITERIA TO TIP FOR INDIA'S HIGHEST POST ? by ANIYAN on 08 Jan 2009

AN INTELLIGENT AND VERY EXPERIENCED MINISTER LIKE PRANAB KUMAR MUKHERJEE, WOULD NOT SEND SUCH SALVO, WITHOUT AN INNER MEANING, GIVEN HIS WISDOM AND MATURITY. MUKHERJEE IS DEFINITELY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH MANMOHAN SINGH, WHO WAS THE RESERVE BANK GOVERNOR, WHEN HE WAS THE FINANCE MINISTER, IN THE HANDLE OF THE PRESENT TENSION WITH PAKISTAN. HE KNOWS THAT HE WILL NOT BE ELEVATED TO PM POSITION SURPASSING MANMOHAN OR EVEN ANTONY, WHO IS A FAVOURITE OF SONIA. SO, PRANAB KNOWS THAT HIS FATE IS SEALED AND HE WANTS IT TO BE SEALED ON OTHERS TOO. IT IS SURPRISING THAT RAHUL GANDHI, WHO PROVED NEITHER ANY QUALITY IN PARLIAMENT OR IN HIS PARTY ACTIVITIES, IS TIPPED FOR THE HIGHEST JOB OF THIS COUNTRY, PURELY ON THE BASIS OF HIS BELONGING TO NEHRU CLAN. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF YOUNG, EXPERIENCED HANDS IN THE CONGRESS PARTY WHO ARE FIT AND OUTFIT TO TAKE UP. PK MAHANTA LED A MOVEMENT, UNDER AASU AND BECAME CM UNDER A CLEAR VERDICT, SO IS OMAR. ANTONY AND PAWAR ALSO BECAME CM AT YOUNG AGE.

RAHUL TO BECOME NEXT PM by Yash Wadhawan on 08 Jan 2009

Rahul deserves indeed to become next PM of India after all sacrifices which Gandhi family showed in the past BRAVO SONIA JEE

Day not far when Rahul becomes PM: Pranab by Chandan on 08 Jan 2009

Mr. Pranab,Not sure why you politicians can't have enough of these opportunities praising a Gandhi. I think, having been in public life for so many years, you are more eligible to become a PM than Rahul. Stop demeaning your own stature by supporting family rule. I have nothing against Rahul, but you are trying to support a guy who is getting it very easily. Would you still support him if he were not to be a Gandhi? Why not endorse a senior statesman like Mr. Chidambaram? At least we know him by what he has done. Chandan

Ranab is suited for Darbari's role by GK on 08 Jan 2009

Pranab Mukherjee should resign and serve as a darbari at 10 Janpath. He wil paid handsomly even doing a darbari job at 10 Janpath and moreover he is well suited for this. When Rahul is nominated for PM it would be ill-fated day for India as another BOFORS and Quattorochi scandals will be in the offing.
