Murder by drink by Kishore Karnad on 09 Jul 2009

With 32 reported deaths so far, it is obvious that the ;joint' was known to a ny patronised by hundreds regularly. Can the local police claim ignorence of its existance? Are they (police) not partners in the crime? But then, this is not the the first liquer tragedy and nor it will be the last-- unless the police and bootleggers are punished- strictly and swiftly, an unlikely even in India. And afterall, those who died are poor workers, remembered only at the time of election.
