According to the chief public relations officer Anuj Dayal, the maintenance and repair of roads in the vicinity of Metro’s construction activities is a continuous exercise carried out by the Delhi Metro.
In East Delhi, repair work was done in the last fortnight on a 100 sq metre stretch on NH-24 and a 200 sq m stretch near the upcoming Akshardham Metro Station, as well as near the Noida Golf Course and Sector 32 City Centre, and stretches near the upcoming Sector 15 and Sector 16 Metro Stations on the Indraprastha - New Ashok Nagar section.
Repair work has also been done in the Vikas Marg area on the Yamuna Bank - Anand Vihar corridor. Roads have been repaired with concrete around the station area under the upcoming Laxmi Nagar, Preet Vihar and Nirman Vihar Metro stations. Potholes between Karkari More and Preet Vihar have also been filled up by the DMRC.
Around 800 sq m of roads have already been repaired on the Inderlok - Mundka corridor and by the end of July, a total of 1.8 km of roads will have been repaired for potholes on this corridor at a total cost of Rs 20 lakh.
Extensive repairs have been completed near the AIIMS, Jor Bagh and Race Course Station areas at a cost of Rs 1 crore. On the Vishwavidyalaya - Jahangirpuri corridor, repair work on more than 1200 sq m of road is scheduled for completion by the first week of August at a total cost of nearly Rs 30 lakh.
The Central Secretariat - Gurgaon corridor, that is under construction, had also necessitated repairs in Green Park and on the road between Chhattarpur and the Delhi-Gurgaon border in the past month. Road repairs were also undertaken in Gurgaon over a 100 sq m area near the Metropolitan Mall on MG Road.
On the Central Secretariat - Badarpur Corridor, the waterlogging problem in the Khan Market area was rectified and a 180 sq m road stretch near the Market repaired by the DMRC.
