New Delhi, February 8 A minor reshuffle was effected in the Delhi Police top ranks on Friday with the transfers of two Joint Commissioners of Police.

JCP Qamar Ahmed, who was heading the Traffic Police for the past four years, was transferred to Headquarters in the same rank, a Delhi Police spokesperson said.

S N Srivastava, currently JCP (Planning and Implementation), will replace Ahmed, the official said.

Ahmed has been critical of the Delhi government’s Bus Rapid Transport project and has voiced his doubts about it on numerous occasions.

The transfer order was issued last night by Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal, hours after Ahmed attended a function to launch Delhi Police Traffic Motorcycle Patrol.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West District) Robin Hibu has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh on promotion, a senior police official said. Hibu has been promoted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the north-eastern state.

However, the official said, Hibu has not relinquished his charges as Delhi Police is yet to make alternative arrangements, which will take a couple of days, he added.
