New Delhi The Delhi Government will soon open unaided schools with facilities comparable to private schools to cater to the demand for good schools for middle and upper middle class families. The schools will have lower fee structure and easy admission criteria, to provide an alternate option to parents with school going children.

To be operated on the scale of a top notch private school, the school is also expected to provide a baseline data for the Government to judge private school demands for higher fee. "This will help the Government figure out how much money one really needs to run a private institution" said Government sources.

Education Minister A S Lovely has announced that two sites - on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg and Laxmibai Nagar - have been identified to set up these schools. The schools will be run by a society headed by the Chief Minister and assisted by the Education Minister, and the school board would comprise of eminent educationists.
