Vijayawada, May 5: All India Jana Jathi Surakasha Manch has demanded that tribals who convert to Islam and Christanity should be delisted from the tribal community.

All India Convenor of the Manch, Harish Chawahan speaking to pressmen on Monday at the local unit office, said the constitution of the country has given certain benefits to tribals but some of them convert to minorities with a view to enjoy benefits of government schemes for tribals and minorities as well.

He said in India about 18 per cent of the tribals, especially from North-East states, convert to enjoy both the benefits (for minorities and tribals) from the government.

The Manch would launch agitations and signature campaign against this practice and would later submit a memorandum to the President of India, said Chawahan.

Andhra Pradesh Unit Convenor P Lakshmi Narayana and other office bearers were also present at the press meet.
