Desh Prem Academy to admit new players March 7 onwards

Chandigarh, March 2 There is good news for girls and women cricketers in Chandigarh, the well-known Desh Prem Cricket Academy (DPCA) at St. Stephen's School, Chandigarh will now be open for them also. As Dronacharya awardee Desh Prem Azad puts in, “Women cricket is growing in India day by day. We have few very good players in Chandigarh also. I am sure there are a lot of girls who want to learn about cricket basics. Now with BCCI taking over women cricket in India, and more money coming into the game, girls want to make a career out it. So, my academy will be open to both boys and girls.”

The admissions will be open from March 7 onwards. Interested players in the age group of 8-10 years, 11-13 years and14-16 years can contact DP Azad at 9815111555 during working days between 4pm to 6pm. According to DP Azad, the academy will organise a tournament in the end of March and the matches will be played at St Stephen's School ground as well as at St Stephen’s School, Togan.
