Jon, 34, a rising designer who had dressed socialite Paris Hilton and singer Janet Jackson before his arrest last year, faces possible life imprisonment after a Los Angeles Superior Court jury found him guilty on 16 criminal counts.
The crimes involved lewd acts on a child, rape and sexual battery in assaults between 2001 and 2007 against nine would-be models aged between 14 and 21. He was also convicted of possessing child pornography.
Prosecutors said Jon lured girls and women to Los Angeles with the promise they could work as models and then attacked them.
"He humiliated, degraded and took what he wanted from them. He was a predator who took advantage of the weak people around him. He has no criminal sexual borders. If he didn't use force, he laced their drinks," prosecutor Frances Young told the jury.
Jon, whose full name is Anand Jon Alexander, denied the charges. His lawyers said the girls and young women were revenge seekers who had made up their stories or who had "invited what happened," and that there was little physical evidence.
The designer was acquitted of four charges and the jury could not reach a verdict on three other counts.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 13. The Los Angeles District Attorney's office said Jon was facing a sentence of life in prison, with a 67-year wait before becoming eligible for parole.
Jon has been in custody for a year because he is being investigated on similar charges in New York and Dallas.
The Indian-born designer was profiled on the TV show "America's Next Top Model" in 2003 and selected by Newsweek magazine as one of the world's most successful South Asians in 2004.

There is no need to put blames on the legal system of the United States. In India, people with money and power can play game with the judicial system, like the superior game the British people enjoyed over the native Indians. Anand might have inherited certain character genetically, which might have been multiplied too fast due to his prominence. His paternal grandfather was the principal of the college I have studied in India. He was a smiling autocract, and had no mercy on anybody who stood on his way.
We don't need to blame any countrys judiciary system.After all however the victims have appoached and whatever their morality may be, why he has committed such cheap act.There aare so many another artist in entertainment those all are of not the same moral.i personally one should't left his morality for the personal benefit or the enjoyment.If everyone will use the same funda than there wouldn't remain anyone socially secure.Let the leave this issue for the judges who are the caretaker of the society and why we should favour any criminal however famouse after all he has done bad act with very little child girls aged 14,16.Whatever their ambitious, whatever they were ready to offer for success but Mr.jon was enough mature by age.So,we don't need to blam the America's judiciary system as they had also not left to fetch in the court to former precident Mr.Clinton.There is better condition in America compare to India in regards to laws.skin is not an issue as he has committed crime.
may be he is innocent after all. american justice can be manipulated. its never perfect. maybe a conspiracy set up by jealous competitors who cannot tolerate thew immediate success of anand jon

It is a great surprise that he has been accused of such a crime. It is an open secret that aspiring models and others in the entertainment world are sometimes asked for personal favours. Those who dare to be different do not seek such cheap popularity. However, there are those weaklings who tread this easy path. Jon is innocent till proved guilty. Let justice be done to him and to his hapless victims.
It is shame that a minority community member Jon Alexander of Christian faith and redeemed by Christ who will provide him heaven is being prosecuted in USA who is supposed to help this religion to show its seclallularism. But recently US has attacked Catholics and this one more such case. Sent Soniya ji must save Brother Jon from US with the help of Pope.

1st of all try to save ur own country corruption and violence. if u win, u can instruct them..
In American judiciary, you start with negatives if you are Coloured (including Indians), Male and non-American passport. Anand anyway started with 2 negatives assuming he carried an American passport. If he carried Indian passport, this judgement would have been passed long long back. Such is the American Justice System.
Imposition of American law has a direct proportion to the colour of the skin and ethnicity of the person. I wonder what would be the decision if a White Caucasian male had done this to girls of colour and foreign nationality ?
