Islamabad, January 6: All those who were very close to slain former Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto are now stunned at the manner in which she had behaved in dealing with many facets of her busy life in the days before her assassination.

They recall many instances which apparently indicate she had premonitions about her fate and wanted to complete all her unfinished business as soon as she could.

Naheed Khan, the life-time associate, friend and political secretary of the late Pakistan People's Party chief, recounted one such incident that occurred when she and Bhutto had visited her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's grave at Garhi Khuda Buksh village.

"Is this not the place where we all have to come?" Bhutto told Khan just a week before her death, standing exactly at the spot in the family mausoleum where she said she wanted to be buried.

Bhutto then went to the graves of her brothers, stepmother, grandfather and others and gave orders for them to be improved and repaired. According to The News, Khan said it was as if Bhutto wanted to ensure that she would in a "better environment" when she was laid to rest in the mausoleum.

Another incident recalled by Khan occurred when she and Bhutto were planning for a public meeting on January 5.

Bhutto suddenly told her: "But I will not be there."

Everybody thought she was talking about some engagement she had remembered for that date.

In yet another incident that occurred during Bhutto's visit to Peshawar a couple of days before her assassination, she went to see PPP workers and leaders and sat with them for hours until everybody had been able to interact with her.
