Ludhiana, February 3 In a fresh revelation in the Yum Travels fraud case, it has been found that Director, Haryana Kala Parishad, had mortgaged her Sector 7, Panchkula house to invest in Yum Travels Service Private Limited, Sector 34, Chandigarh. The company had duped several people of lakhs of rupees.

Parishad director, Usha Sharma, is the sister of Satish Bhardwaj, one of the directors of Yum Travels. The other three were Satish’s sons Tapasvi and Kuru and daughter-in-law, Pooja.

The trio has been absconding since January 16. Usha Sharma, meanwhile, has claimed that she, too, was duped by the company.

“It has been learnt that the four Board of Directors of Yum Travels were last dropped at the Panchkula house of Usha Sharma,” said Vikram Kaushal, who owns Blue Sky World Wide Travels in Sector 34, Chandigarh. Recently, Kaushal had submitted a written complaint at the SSP and DIG office about the fraud.

“Though Usha Sharma claims that her brother duped her in 2006, why didn’t she register a case. Suddenly she has remembered to issue a public notice declaring that she has no links with Yum Travels and her brother,” said a city resident who was cheated by Yum Travels.

“I mortgaged my house to invest in Yum Travels. I allowed my brother and his family to use the money thinking that it would be a good source of income. But when I realised that my brother was cheating me and was using more money than I had allowed, I stopped talking to them,” said Sharma.

Usha Sharma said she did not register a case against Satish because he is her brother.
