A down-tempo, trip-hop outfit, J Viewz came up six years ago — for fun and some experimentation with acoustic instruments in their studio, but it soon found itself established as a live act. “The group was not formed with any particular agenda,” says Jonathan Dagan, the guitarist who founded the five-member band and flew down for the concert last year as well. “It is hard to describe our music. We give a different interpretation to songs which are up-tempo.” He alternates between the turntables and the laptop, and has found some great stuff in Bollywood music. He says, “It’s the everyday life that drives our music and India has been a big influence. It can get into one’s system.
