Digvijay slams BJP's 'imported' mascot Uma Bharti

Kanpur Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday attacked the BJP saying he felt sorry that an “outsider” from Madhya Pradesh had been projected as the party's chief ministerial candidate in UP.

He said, he felt sorry for state BJP leaders like Rajnath Singh, Kalraj Mishra and Surya Pratap Shahi who were not considered fit to be UP CM, instead an “imported” outsider like Uma Bharti had been brought in which was a poor reflection on the state leadership of BJP.

Digvijay said if he was an outsider campaigning in UP like Baba Ramdev says, then so was Uma Bharti and that too as a chief ministerial candidate.

He lambasted SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for claiming that he would abolish Value Added Tax (VAT), saying such impractical promises had been made earlier as well, but they do not work.

He also regretted that while the Congress was censured by Election Commission on the issue of sub-quota to minority, the BJP got away scot-free by including Ram Mandir issue in its manifesto.

Digvijay claimed the Congress would not support any party if it got enough seats, instead he expressed confidence that the party would form the government in the state.

Whats wrong? by sri on 21 Feb 2012

When congress was claiming sonia (an outsider to India) would become the PM of the country, Rahul, sonia who never stay in Raibarale or Amethi during normal days represnt loksabha seat from those constituencies...whats a big deal...if a eligible candidate from slightly different part stands for the development of UP..I don't see anything wrong

Feel sorry for yourself first! by rajmohan k on 21 Feb 2012

Digvijay Singh, feel sorry for yourself and many many senior leaders in the congress, when 'milk babies' like Rahul and Priyanka are projected as the ones to head your party and your givernments (if at all)due to your 'dynasty' politics in congress in that only those who has a tale of "fake Gandhi"name can become party president or the remote control power within your party! Feel sorry that seniors like Pranab Mukherjee, Arjun Singh, and comics like Kapil Sibal and you of course, are nothing in front of Rahul Baby, and you have to stand up and salute whenever he passes-by! Feel sorry for that! And stop poking your nose unnecessarily!
