London Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that he does not visualize a conflict over the border dispute between India and China.

Talking to reporters after attending the G-20 Finance Ministers meet in St. Andrews in Scotland, Mukherjee said: "I do not visualize any conflict on border dispute between India and China. We have an institutional arrangement, though there are divergences of views.

But in the form of special representatives of Prime Minister's from both the countries, they met regularly, until now, more than a dozen meetings have taken place. There has been an agreement on broad guiding principles and political parameters. But the actual resolution of the dispute is yet to take place and there has been an still divergence of views and I do not visualize any conflict in that area."

Mukherjee also said that India has been taking initiatives to develop its border areas.

"From the development in the border areas are concerned, of the Tibetan autonomous region, the development of border is superior to that of ours, but we have started catching up," he added.

He also said that the government has totake adequate steps to make up for the shortfall of the food grains due to a bad monsoon.

"Though there may be a shortfall of the grain production, availability will be more to depress the inflationary measures, we have taken adequate cares to maintain the demand and supply position by allowing commodities of shortage fall to be imported most of these are foods without any duty and imports are taking place," he added.

On the climate change issue, Mukherjee said developing countries need to be funded for access to clean technology.

"Funding would be required to have access to clean technology at affordable costs. And what would be the arrangements of the funding, how these resources will come, some indications have been given from time to time and it has been accepted even in the Bali working plan of the climate change conference that developed countries will have to contribute substantially, it can be supplemented by carbon marketing, by private sector," Mukherjee said.

Do not visualise a conflict on border with China : Pranab by VM Nair on 12 Nov 2009

Pranab Dada do not visualize any conflict on border dispute between India and China because neither he nor his government has the guts to take on China diplomatically or militarily. Our govt. is suffering from an acute inferiority complex which reflects from every meetings with Chinese counterparts and we could not find any solution excepting "expressing satisfaction". It is high time for our leaders to show some courage instead of pretending that nothing is happening on our borders with China..

1962 do not foget, it is people like Pranab making our people think WHY CANT WE DELIVER STRONG LEADER.DO NOT FORGET OUR BRAVE MAN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE LAID THEIR LIVES FOR OUR NATION.chian wants Arunachal, wake up INDIA, VOTE FOR STRONG LEADERS,AND BE PROUD OF ARMED FORCES.

Louder Baljit!!! by ABC on 10 Nov 2009

Indians have no respect for the armed forces. I resent all those people who sit back and criticize Nehru for not waging wars against China. 1962 war was fought in vain for a territory that didn't belong to us. Nehru was pushed and bullied by people inside and outside his party and asked the armed forces to advance. The officers and jawans were said to be confused as to why they are being asked to move into the territory that didn't belong to us. They still followed orders and perished, unequipped and outnumbered. I saw a retired major comment on this forum only to be heckled. That kind of disrespect to a person who gave everything for the country is deplorable!! Pranab is no dummy. He knows the armed forces are better equipped today. Further, defending our own Arunachal is far more legitimate than occupying others' territory.

Chinese won't attack because Pranab says so. by YD on 09 Nov 2009

Pranab dada you do not have a vision of the past, forget vision of future. Are you speaking on behalf of Chinese ? Did Chinese told you so ? Will they need your permission ? Nehru said the same thing before 1962. It is open season of Goofees.

I can%u2019t help myself from watching Nicolas Cage movies. Recent reports, including People Magazine %u2013 granted, these are gossip rags that are really only useful for kindling - are coming out about Nicholas Cage broke. Well, the reports of Nicholas Cage broke are true, as the highly successful actor is severely in the hole, with the IRS and mortgage companies. He's trying to do everything he can to pay it off, including auctioning off a lot of his assets, and he has so far blamed his former management for malfeasance. Sam Levin, his former manager, is fingered as the culprit as the person who mishandled Cage's affairs and led to $20 million in liabilities. Nicholas Cage or that far in debt %u2013 that's more than payday lenders can lend.

This kind of statement are obvious from 2nd grade leaders who have failed to make India strong or eventhemselves stronger against anything be it power, greed or lack of self respect. However, i too hope there is no conflict. Life is not cheap to be wasted. But i look forward to see a strong India than a timid india infront of China.
