Prominent British Muslims will star in the British Foreign Office-funded £400,000 (approximately Rs 2.9 crore)-campaign that is set to break on Pakistani television next Monday, ‘The Guardian’ reported on Tuesday.
The three-month public relations offensive, called ‘I Am the West’, will also include high-profile events in regions such as Peshawar and Mirpur, ‘The Guardian’ said. Seven in ten British Pakistanis are Mirpuris.
According to ‘The Guardian’, the first three ads in the project will feature British Communities Minister Sadiq Khan, UK manager of Islamic Relief Jehangir Malik, former England Under-19 captain and promising Worcestershire allrounder Moeen Ali, and the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Chaudry Abdul Rashid, a Mirpuri.
The campaign, the paper said, will be targeted at ‘15-25-year-old males who are less than well-educated and worldly wise, but potentially susceptible to extremist doctrines’. Nine 30-second commercials, supported by ads on radio, will be aired on PTV, Geo TV and Khyber among other channels. If the Pakistani campaign is successful, it will be extended in Egypt, Yemen and Indonesia.
The central theme of the campaign, ‘The Guardian’ said, "is to assert that there is no contradiction in being a Muslim and being British." It has four key aims, the daily reported: ‘to ensure Pakistanis realise the west is not anti-Islamic, that British society is not anti-Islam, to demonstrate the extent to which Muslims are integrated into British society and to stimulate and facilitate constructive debate on the compatibility of liberal and Muslim values’.

Its a big humiliation on part of Britain. It looka like they are begging in front of this nasty rogue and a terrorist state of Pakistan. Instead of this begging all the countries should unite and omit the map of Pakistan from the world map.This country is a big headpain for the whole world.
The ads need to be played on British Tv as well .. for the home grown terrorists.

This is crazy and stupid. If Britan things and belive that by doing this they will stop the attack then they are living in fools world. If the guys who bomb and kills had that much of knowledge and snese than they would not do those kind of things in the 1st place. With reference to the article titled "Dont Attack us , says Britain" , Is it that the cows are finally coming home to roost ? Britain , that sowed so much hatred between two communities that India and Pakistan were created is now at the mercy of one of its creations ? Is this Divine justice ? Only time can tell . But this much is certain , that things will not end here . We in India will have to fight this menace , if not today then tomorrow !! But surely , it will end in either one of us neighbors wiped out from the face of the planet !! And I hope it is Pakistan that does a disappearing act !!

This is absolutely absurd and without precedence. Britain does not have to capitulate or beg with the terrorists of Pakistan when their biggest problem is home-grown terrorism. The main problem facing Britain now is that muslims of Britain do not feel British enough. Just take a stroll around any of the 'Pakistani' neighbourhoods of Britain and feel it for yourself. There is so much of hatred and resentment towards the society that you'd think that you are in Karachi or Islamabad.Address this and the Pakistani problem will solve itself. i thought british people are wise. any way they have a understanding problem, they don't have to spend so much amount in silly ads, instead if britishers get converted themselves to islam and so to mental retard state, nobody will attack UK. one good thing by this way britishers have conveyed one massage, we can't fight terorrism, we have submitted to the will of terorrists, and terorrists are super power in the world. by this they have indirectly gave power to terorrists, this i call a country of shame !
I have not heard anything so radically different ever in my life. Whether it is right or wrong remains to be seen. Let Pakistan acknowledge they have a problem on their hands in terms of home grown terrorism. The very fact that such a plan did not orginate from Pakistani establishment proves that they support terrorism as a means of state policy. Was Pakistan able to blackmail UK, it seems so and this may be the means of legally paying of the blackmailers in Pakistan.
