Dowry case registered against two policemen in J&K

Jammu A case has been registered against two police constables after the wife of one of them complained of dowry related harassment, officials said in Jammu on Wednesday.

The two policemen Khalid Riyaz and his brother Khalid Imtiyaz allegedly beat up and injured the former's wife, Rehmat, and threw her out of the house along with her infant son as she failed to give them Rs three lakh dowry, Poonch area police said as per the complaint lodged.

The woman also accused her in laws of dowry related harassment, they said.

Police registered a case against the two constables and are probing further.
