"This has been made possible as these trains, unlike the Rajdhani Express, will have no intermediate stoppages and run in much the same speed clocked by Rajdhani," said Railway Board member, Shri Prakash.
For example, he said, the new bi-weekly non-stop train between New Delhi and Howrah will take 16 hours to cover the journey, as against 17 hours taken by Rajdhani Express.
"The trains will, however, have technical stoppages at a few stations for facilitating staff and loco change but the "transit time will come down drastically ", he said.
All the 12 trains have been announced between cities where the volume of passenger traffic and demand is high.
These routes are also serviced by Rajdhani Express. However, talking to the media earlier Shri Prakash did not mention whether the tickets for these trains will come at a premium, saying "they are being worked out."
These trains have been christened as "Duronto" -- meaning non-stop-- and will comprise both AC and non-AC sleeper coaches.

There are only two superfast daily trains that ply between Hyderabad to Kolkata.Seeing in account of the heavy traffic demand on this route the railways should introduce a Duronto in this route atleast bi-weekly
Require to start Bangalore Mumbai Duronto train, many people are traveling from Mumbai to Bangalore and vice versa, but only have option of flght which is expensive, Bus or Train which takes almost 24 hrs to reach Mumbai from Bangalore, If Duronto express train start between these two Metro cities, then I am sure Railway will make good profit as well people will save traveling time. Hope next budget will be having Mumbai - Bangalore duronto train.
It is good news for the passengers who used to come regularly to Bangalore from north India because the train is more faster like than Rajdhani Express. As far as concern starting station it should be left from the New Delhi or H Nizammudin not from Sarai rohilla which would avoid the harassment of passengers. The duronto should have one more commercial stop like Agra Cantt as a No of passengers travel from Agra to bangalore after visiting the historical monuments Taj Mahal. Thanks if the request consider in favour of passangers.
AS A PRESTIGIOUS TRAIN DURONTO EXPRESS SHOULD START FROM BANGALORE CITY INSTEAD OF YESWANTHAPUR JN. SINCE MOST OF THE TRAINS ARE STARTING FROM YESWANTHAPUR IT IS SUGGESTED ALL MOST EXPRESS TRAINS ARE STARTING FROM YESWANTHAPUR IT IS OK, WHERE AS PRESTIGIOUS TRAINS LIKE DURONTO AND RAJADHANI EXPRESS TRAINS CAN START FROM BANGALORE CITY. IT IS MORE CONVENIENT FOR THE PASSENGERS TO BOARD THE TRAINS FROM CITY RATHER THAN YESWANTHAPUR CONCERN DEPARTMENT CAN LOOK IN THIS AND ACT AS PER MY REQUEST .
Its is good sign to start such services in Indian Railways ,but their safty is to be top of the all concerns.
fantastic and brilent
