ECR records 12.6% increase in income

Hajipur (Bihar) The East Centre Railway (ECR) has recorded a 12.6 per cent increase in its income in the nine months of the ongoing fiscal as compared to the corresponding figure last year, officials said today.

The ECR has earned Rs 5687 crores from April to December 2011 of the present fiscal through both passenger and freight incomes as against Rs 5050 crores during the corresponding period in the last fiscal, they said.

The ECR has witnessed a 13.27 per cent jump in its income from freight at Rs 4400.43 crores, while the income from passenger fare has increased by 10.20 per cent at Rs 1118.86 crores as against the corresponding figure of Rs 1014.77 crores last year.
