E-books facility at BoM library

Pune, October 13 Allen C A Pereira, chairman and managing director, Bank of Maharashtra inaugurated the E-books facility at Prof V G Kale Library recently.

The library is located at Head Office, 'Lokmangal', 1501, Shivajinagar. With this facility now members can read educational CDs on the computers provided at Bank's library. On the occasion, Mahasaraswati Pooja was performed by B K Piparaiya, general manager, Planning.

To inculcate a healthy saving habit right in the early age, BoM has recently introduced 'Mahasaraswati' scheme. Under this scheme students can save regularly in small amounts and make it a large deposit over the period. This scheme is open for students who have attained the age of ten years and above. Free accident insurance cover of Rs. 50,000 is available under the scheme. The students will get preferential treatment in education loan with concession of 0.25% in rate of interest. In case beneficiary hails from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) family, concession would be 0.50%, stated a press release.

Prof. V.G. Kale Library was founded in 1978 and is named after the first Chairman of the Bank - the late Prof. V.G. Kale, a well known economist of the country. The library is open to all. Students above 10th standard, bankers, entrepreneurs and general public can obtain membership free of charge. Educational & Reference CD/DVDs are available. The CD/DVDs are particularly useful for students of 10th & 12th Standard of CBSE, ICSE & Maharashtra Board.

The library is well equipped with latest books on Banking, Management, Foreign exchange, Human Resource Management, Economics, Risk Management, Investment, Information Technology, Accountancy, Law etc.

Some special features worth mentioning are:

* All text books & reference books for10th Standard, 12th Standard & above

* Text & reference books for Engineering

* Books for various competitive examinations like CET, GRE, TOFFEL, GATE, CAT, UPSC, MPSC etc. along with CAIIB/JAIIB and promotional examinations are also available.

* The library has also good collection of reference books viz Encyclopedia Britannica, World Book Encyclopedia, Encyclopedia of Management and Information Technology, Columbia Encyclopedia etc.

* More than 100 periodicals/journals on various subjects are being subscribed.

* E-books & educational CD/DVDs.
