"There is a move on to destabilise the Board and make it seem as if the officials are not working and coordinating together. But the fact is the Chairman (Ejaz Butt) has full faith in me and we have a very good relationship and everyone is doing the job assigned to him," says Miandad.

"Look, we also know that if we as former players can't do something good in our terms in the board then no one will have faith in us in future," he added.

The former Pakistan captain also sought to downplay the fact that he was not consulted while awarding the central contracts to Pakistan cricketers.

"I have no issues with not being involved in the central contracts process as I have been given other more important tasks. And the Chairman has not asked me to not speak to the media. This is not true," Miandad said.

Miandad also revealed that he was yet to sign a contract with the PCB as its Director General. "I don't think this is such a big issue. I am happy to be working for the betterment of cricket in Pakistan. I will finalise my contractual terms soon with the board," he said.

Sources say that Miandad has asked for a hefty salary package which the Chairman was yet to approve. Miandad had to leave his position as Pakistan team coach thrice between 1998 and 2004 after problems with the Board and players.

But Miandad insisted this time he was facing no such issues in the Board and was doing his best to reorganise the domestic cricket structure and improve things in other areas.

Media reports have suggested he had had disputes with chief selector Abdul Qadir and former Test opener Amir Sohail, who is director of development at the national academy, over certain issues.

Miandad said there was a lobby trying to create the impression that things were getting out of control in the board, which was heading for a split. "Everything is fine and hopefully things will only improve with time," he said.
