Eicher Motors Q4 net at Rs 6.16 crore

Mumbai Eicher Motors said its net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2009 stood at Rs 6.16 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 19.46 crore in the corresponding period previous fiscal.

The commercial vehicles business of the company was transferred on a 'going concern' basis to VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd (subsidiary of the company) with effect from July 1, 2008. Hence, the current quarter figures are not comparable with the figures of corresponding previous quarter, Eicher Motors said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income from operations stood at Rs 89.84 crore for the quarter under review. However, it had a total income from operations at Rs 659.42 crore for the corresponding previous quarter.

Shares of Eicher Motors were trading at Rs 290.25, up 2.44 per cent on the BSE.
