Mumbai A 46-year-old passenger, on board an Emirates flight, was on Thursday arrested upon his arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport in Mumbai for allegedly molesting an air hostess, police said.

The accused, identified as Harun Salaam, hails from Jalna district of Maharashtra and works in Dubai.

On board the Mumbai-bound Emirates flight from Dubai, he allegedly molested and behaved indecently with the victim while she was serving him food," police said.

The flight, EK 500 flight, took off from Dubai at 10.30 PM yesterday and landed at the airport at 3 AM.

"The air hostess then brought Salaam's behaviour to the crew's notice. He was allegedly in a drunken state," police said.

Police have arrested the accused following a complaint lodged by the victim.

I was crew for 16 years and have done many, many of these flights... these passengers drink in the airports and then come on board and get the people sitting next to them to order drinks for them... So DON'T blame the crew, we are told to respect each passenger as an individual unless you have not been crew don't comment as you ain't seen nothing yet! Do a few of these flights and you will see it all..... Crew should be as respected as the passenger itself... at the end of the day we carry them from point A to point B.

It is ludicrous to blame the Crew by Sumsec on 05 Jun 2009

Unless you are being tricked by the crew, the person who chooses to drink should be held responsible for his or her behavior. In this case,Mr.Salaam failed to live up to his name.

Crew equally guilty by Hero Vaz on 05 Jun 2009

Who served the man too much drink, for him to get drunk? The crew are also responsible for the misdemeanour.
