New Delhi, January 27: Narendra Modi left BJP chief Rajnath Singh spellbound as he sold 'brand Modi' at the party National Executive meeting in New Delhi on Sunday.

Singh, who had dropped Modi from the Parliamentary Board almost a year ago, today sang peans for the Gujarat Chief Minister, who was the star at the day-long meeting.

He even went to the extent of asking other party Chief Ministers to emulate Modi and retain power in their respective states to pass the 'agni-pariksha' (trial by fire).

Singh's praise of Modi is virtually seen as an acceptance of Modi's growing stature in the party, much to the chagrin of second rung leaders.

"The victory of Gujarat has silenced all our opponents," Singh told the party's National Executive.

He said the victory has sent a positive message with regard to the BJP's ideological commitment and our ability in the field of development.

"We have shattered the myth in Gujarat that BJP government cannot return to power twice or thrice. Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan should also try to repeat this kind of success," he said.

Singh noted that in 2007 the party snatched Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakahand from the Congress kitty.

"At the same time in Gujarat, we maintained our government in a prestigious contest," he noted.

Modi also drew a standing ovation for several minutes when he was called to the dais at the Executive.

Incidentally, Modi does not figure in the high-level team constituted by Singh to oversee the party's preparations for the elections in states in 2008 and to Lok Sabha in early 2009.

reformation of india is just a Myth by Rajendra Kaushik on 30 Jan 2008

It is really "Mr.Modi's" charishma to bring back BJP in lime light. people of india are now hard pressed with High price rise in every comodity. Congress of no more poor people's party. Congress is full of diffrent uneducated migrated goons from local politics.it is really sad to see Congress in such condition. i wish BJp should go back to basics of peoples need called " roti - Kapada - Makaan" Slogans for common people of india. As pre present situation, Congress-raj is only good for top 500 Business family All MPs in power; this government is not doing any thing for middle and lower income groups as well as people in the villages. we all are forgetting our basic responsobilities and running after myths of Economics juglurys. So, Now wake up Indian and think right for the present rather than just baffelled with rosy speeches of our ministers in power.

Modi the role Model by Ananth on 28 Jan 2008

The clarion call by Rajnath Singh has to be supported by action with good governace free from corruption, nepotism and goondaism.BJP should get rid off the chamchas, sychophants and oppertunist with in and show that they are differant. While RSS is respected for its discipline,we have to accept that many of the RSS pretenders are only misusing the platform for their personal end.BJP should isolate them and only competent people should be assigned the responsibility. If BJP could learn from Mr.Modi on good governace then they can expect to be back in saddle in the centre. The ball is their in their court

Need Secular India. by VKN on 28 Jan 2008

I have read Rajnath's advice to other BJP Ministers to emulate Modi. Please...we do not want genocide or a progrom all over India.

Modi brand by jyoti on 28 Jan 2008

Everytime when some states a fact of history, this newspapers decides to remove those comments; thinking it is abusive to some monirity community. Even if it is historical fact.It is a fact that eatern philosophies, religions are hindu based, be is sikhism, jain, buddhism. It is a fact the Abrhahamic religions have heavily borrored from hiduism. Example: I went to a jewish gathering after a funera, and they call it "sitting shiva". Iwas latter told that "shiva is their god of destruction..Why should hindus not take credit fro what is theirs? Why does IE have a problem with that/ If it offends the minorities so be it!

get your facts right before commenting by Teacher on 28 Jan 2008

Don't spread mis-information.All Abrahamic religion's are monolithic. They do not have different God's for different occasions."Sitting Shiva" is not what you claim as God of destruction but a state where family of deceased receives consolations and talk about the departed soul.Don't spread false propaganda that Abrahamic religions have picked up something from hinduism since they both are poles apart. For more regarding "Sitting Shiva" read the following rather than asking some fool. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva_(Judaism)

Unbelievable, is n't it ? by withheld on 28 Jan 2008

Abrahamic religions have indeed accepted many facets of 'sanat(h)an(a) dharm(a)'. The whole concept of 'son of God' versus 'son of man', a misunderstood concept unfortunately for the 'established christianity' is amply explained in Bhagvat Gita. The belief of 'seven' forefathers in Judaism is conspicous by its correlation to seven rishi's and their got(h)ra in Hinduism. May be the teacher could start with the 'autobiography of a Yogi'. Genesis as explained in Abrahamic religion can better de-symbolised with Hindu teachings. And the list goes on...

Bright futur of BJP they need to work hard by Ajai Rajput on 28 Jan 2008

I totally agree with you Mr.Bharat, a very strong anti Hindu, biased English media will try again and again with their fullest strength to prevent BJP come to power. Only by doing fast development, excellent governance approach, BJP can build up momentum for very reliable, stable and stronger government. Indian people are hungry for bigger change in system, public expecting a total change in system not change of one government; they are fed-up with pseudo secular, corrupt and useless leaders. Public asking to put a big hammer on “Kahil” beaurocracySheila Dixit can return to second term only on the basis of development and no visible strong alternative. Modi have been able to retain his position because his works were visible even to blinds and their was lacuna for his alternative, people look forward same visibility of development in other BJP ruled state, which is not there, The CM of other BJP ruled state must work hard, day and night.

Emulate Modi by peshori ahuja on 28 Jan 2008

Congress (Sonia) called Modi murderer. Anyone could see that the objective was to turn muslims against BJP and get muslim votes. But the muslims did not care and whatever number of seats BJP lost and Congress gained is because of the betrayal of Keshobhai.BJP should cash on it and tell people that Congress is out to divide Hindus and Muslims. Quoting what Sonia said against Modi BJP should tell all and sundry that BJP is for developement and obviously there is no discrimination in developement.

Congress definitely was is and will be antihindu by dr.G.Srinivasan on 28 Jan 2008

We all know that congress since it inceptio is against hinduism.Only thing is many people consider it progressive join the party only to realise late in life that congress (read Nehru Gandhi family and their chamchas) cheated them!!!!!!

Advani lack credibility by Moni Mohan Paul on 28 Jan 2008

Majority of non-political people of India view Advani with suspision. He has not the acceptability like Bajpai. People think Advani can ditch after winning the election. This image has been built by his involvement in Hawala (although he got clean chit, but people have doubt), his inability to control terrorism as home minister, his role in Gujarat riot etc. If BJP wants to come to power, they should raise issues like price rise, un-employment etc. which are hurting commonmen, rather than issues like terrorism, nuclear issues which public donot understand much

Christians heart of heart despise hinduism by dr.G.Srinivasan on 28 Jan 2008

in this is it the Moni mohan that is speaking or Paul who is speaking?

Modi and Human touch by Varinder Sarin on 27 Jan 2008

All round development of Gujrat despite sustained, well planned propaganda by Bogus Secularists and self appointed NGO's, people of Gujrat has shown the world that honesty, self respect and development can do wonders.BJP's other CMs' should emulate Modi and success is bound to come. Nobody likes to hurt anyone, and all communities want to live in peace but some political parties planned in the past and are still making strategies for instilling fear of Modi in Minoirty and this game will not succeed. BJP needs to be careful from Congress, CPM and their allies in UPA as theyi will try to create wedge between two communities for gaining power and in turn BJP should put a healing touch to the minority community for their hurt feelings thus killing two birds with one stone. Win the hearts of Minority and kill the congress in its own game.

Emulate Modi by Peshori Ahuja on 27 Jan 2008

Modi is wonderful. He knows Congress understands the language of "Nehle pae Dahla" and the congress trio understnd.I am sure the PM would have realised that he was made to say wrong things agaist Modi by Congress (Sonia).Sonia called him "murderer", the worst thing a person of the position of the president of the ruling party can say and still let the "murderer" be the chief minister.Rajnath Singh's advice is quite right. The BJP has to be assertive and never apologatic.Modi nnot only won in Gujarat but his success brought victories in Himachal Pradesh and Utteranchal as well.

Development only criteria by Sujit on 27 Jan 2008

If all chief ministers of BJP follow the development agenda of Modi, congress will never comeback in any state. But in doing so, the chief ministers also need determination and administrative ability. Modi is coming back to power again again only due to the work he is doing in the state and not due to any ideology or any Hindutva. This is true for nay state like Shila Dixit in Delhi for 2nd term.

BJP Policy by Hriday on 27 Jan 2008

The BJP must not be a washed out Congress Mark 2 Party.Narendra Modi won because he projected a claar cut Hindutava policy based on the proven record of good governance

Modi formula rejected by shiv sena by Syed Zainulabedin on 27 Jan 2008

Shiv Sena Supermo Bal Thackaray already rejected the Modi formula saying that he no need that for the coming elections in Maharashtra. BJP can't use it in AP,Karnataka, Tamilnadu. Kerala, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana,Goa,Tripura, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram,WestBengal and Delhi as BJP has no grip or base in these states. so Modi formula is going to be totally flop. BJP is not acceptable in many states of our country.

Modi Formula by subbu on 28 Jan 2008

This is your myopic view of the situation. God help you!Shiv Sena has not rejected Modi, they are afraid of him. Because there are a large no. of Gujaratis in Mumbai but for whom Mumbai would sink to 11th position in economic and financial standing. Shiv Sena will then have to bite the dust.

Grow up.... by mehul on 28 Jan 2008

Obviously you have not read a single line of the article but the heading. Rajnath is talking about Modi formula (i.e. development). And development is obviously not to praise minorities (i.e. Muslims) at all costs. To provide a common man work opportunity is development. If you give bread to a beggar you can feed him for a day but if you give him work you can feed him for his life. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to realise congress is giving one day solution to all minority problems and Modi is working for a long term solution.

Narendra Modi by Hriday on 27 Jan 2008

Syed Mia should not be selective in quoting old Bal Thackeray.Thackeray will be quite happy to shunt his tribe to Pakistan.Modi is India's future. He is a competent, honest

BJP-NDA is future of Bharat by Bharat on 27 Jan 2008

BJP must work collectively, that is the way to success. Credit for sucess always must go to workers, then to collective leadership. BJP need to strategise and prioratise actions, and then carry forward them. They must not show any over-confidence, which was the main reason they lost 2004 election from win. BJP must leanr, Congress is a party of crooks and negative politics. Congress can play any dirty games for power. We have seen how dirty games Congress played in Gujarat with the help of their anti-hindu english media agents. Now many Hindu-haters were given Padma awards. Hindus must awake and see the danger country is facing from anti-hindu Congress-UPA-Left govt. We Hindus can save our nation, at the same time destroy it. Its upto us.

BJP NDA by SDSHEKAR on 28 Jan 2008

what Bharat saying is exactly right we can save us or destroy us. I thing many people say secular and destroying us the major share goes to CONGRESS

Mr Modi is Future for India and whole world by KTVReddy on 27 Jan 2008

Mr Narendra Modi is able administrtor, honest and hard working politician.Few people won't like him for sure but it will hardly make any difference as HE has a strong cabinet. 1 He is strong but not autocratic. 2 he is bold but not stupid like many BJP leadres. 3 He has a vison but he is realist 4 He is Hindu but not anti-muslim and TOP of every thing..HE IS honest hukman being we want him to see as PM in future.. Those who deserts you will just weaken CONG and that is for your benefits.. Go Modi GO to CENTRE AS P.M. Mr Modi would compete with Mr Putin as the world leader!www.vasantrokade-exposed.com

Congress now should think of saving itself by Prakashkapila on 27 Jan 2008

If all states emulate Modi, then it does not mean all states would think of rising muslim hindu divide,it only means that each state head will look into issues of emotive issues and will rake them, common among all of it would be hereditary and foreign origin and Ram sethu issue will be common ones.Congress does not have an issue to take to people.Economic progress will not work since BJP will tout gujarat as number one and will make the respective states a contender to number one.Congress must first stop doing what it was doing before, psychophancy may lead to posts in congress but may not give them political power through ballot.Second they must devise solutions to questions that BJP poses without loosing reputation or dignity.Simply accusing someone of "riots","mayhem" or calling them names of "maut ke saudagar" will not work..New ways of playing politics must be discovered that gells with common man like me only then will it be back in the ring.

Emulate MODI a Sane advice-But by K. K,. Ghosh on 27 Jan 2008

Rajnath Singhjee your advice is Good for the Chief Ministers who are going to face Elections in their respective states, where BJP is in Power. You want your existing CMs to emulate MODI, is a sane advice but you please tell us whether your existing Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh has a quality, character, clean image (Honesty) and ability of administration that Modi has? Whether you have got Politician like Modi who can speak like him? The people of Madhya Pradesh may not excuse BJP the way it used UMA BHARTI to win the election and dumped her out. BJP just can not win the election in MP if UMA is not put to the seat she was occupying,Chief Ministership.
