Lucknow Uttar Pradesh's ruling BSP MLA Shekhar Tiwari, now in police custody, has confessed to his involvement in the killing of PWD executive engineer M K Gupta in Auraiya district, a senior police official claimed on Friday.

"The MLA has confessed to his involvement in the murder of the PWD engineer in Auraiya district during interrogation in the police remand", Addtional Director General (Law and Order) Brijlal said.

Brijlal said prima facie investigations have revealed the involvement of the MLA's wife and district panchayat president Vibha Tiwari in destroying evidence in the case.

He said a notice had been served to her to record her statement in the case. However, "she is still not traceable and we are looking for her", the ADGP said

The BSP MLA and his supporters allegedly lynched engineer Gupta after he reportedly refused to pay a huge sum to him for the birthday celebrations of Chief Minister Mayawati.

POLITICAL CRIMINALS by B S GANESH BANGALOR on 03 Jan 2009

BSP MLA Shekhar Tiwari, has shown now how politicians are working as criminals, murderers, traitors and terrorists in our country. Unless our CONSTITUTION IS Amended to black list and even kill such politicians who are a threat to common people, we can not have peace and prosperity. There is need for political and judicial will for implementing my suggestion in public interst.B S Ganesh, ganshar@dataone.in 70/9 Basappa Layout, Hanumanthnagar, BANGALORE 560 019

BSP MLA Confesses to Killing PWD Engineer by Srinivas on 02 Jan 2009

Donot have an unnecessary trail for the MLA. Police should just kill him in an encounter. Recently A.P. police shot and killed three engineering students, since they threw acid on two girl students. The public and the govt officials all supported that action. Speedy, reciprocal and equitable justice was served.Court trial means the MLA and Mayawati will bribe people including cbi and get away.
