However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that it has given assurances to the BCCI to return to India and play the two-match Test series starting on December 11.
The ECB in a statement said the English team, which is now in Bhubaneswar, will fly back home on Friday but will come back to play the Test series.
"The ECB have announced that England will fly back to London tomorrow in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. But both the ECB and the BCCI have made assurances that the two Test matches will go ahead," the statement said.
"The BCCI are endeavouring to find an alternative southern venue for the second Test," the ECB statement added.

Probably english is more scared to face india on the field than the terrorist... This is just an opinion and nothing to do with the reality of the situation.
The decision is correct. what matters is the safety of the players. If a hotel like taj can be attacked then i guess any other hotel is in danger.what if yesterday they had a match in mumbai and the players were there when the terrorists attacked??These terrorist can do anything to gain attention.and i dont think to call eng players chickens is correct..they are correct on their part.safety first. Because if anyhting had happened to them then it would have been india who would have been responsible for it.

I think India will never try to declare war on pakistan anytime soon. The main difference between America destructing Afghanistan is that, the war was never played any near to America.Us invaded Afghanistan had war on their soil.so US always played a safe game but the problem with India is Pakistan is his neighbouring country so there is many chances that many innocent people from both the nations would be devastated by such attack thus leading to a huge mass destruction. This is the only reason i feel india is not going for a war on Pakistan.

When the Indian Freedom fighters were fighting against the British, they refused to give up and with few attacks in a Mumbai, these 20 odd people want to get out of India. Amazing. The caption in tomorrows paper should be - England Chickens Out of Indian Tour. Cannot take loss any more.
England is loosing so convincingly, its no fun watching our guys playing against them, we should probably invite teams which can come over with quality players and put up a fight against us, or else this will only help us make or break few personal records.

I am an Indian and I support the decission of English team to cancell the tour. Safety of players is more important than the cricket match. If we can't secure our own self how can we provide security of others. Time has changed but our policemn still carry sticks in their hands and chew pan. Can you fight a terrorists with a stick when the terrorists has AK47 in his hands. I do not know when we will change the image iof our police and security.

It might sound bit berserk and harsh on English Side but still this is the only way by which the english can deny India from clean sweeping the 7 ODI series and might be the triumph in the test series, most likely to happen on the basis of current form of both the sides, India for sure at its acme.

Well there are much bigger issues than a game of cricket. Let us focus on them and dont crib if cricket teams leave. let them do that, it is just that BCCI may have lost a few hundred crores which it can get from cricket crazy Indians.
