Washington Eva Longoria has been bestowed with ‘Woman of the Year’ award for her extra-curricular philanthropic work, by Nevada Ballet Theatre.

Longoria is a frequent donor to a number of charitable causes and in 2006 founded Eva’s Heroes, a charity for developmentally disabled children.

“I don’t like to be awarded for my philanthropic work that I actually enjoy and I get more back from it,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

She accepted the award, though and praised the Nevada Ballet Theatre for its outreach work and community projects, crediting her dancing experience as having helped with her confidence.

“Dancing was really at the root of my performance bug,” she added.
