Ex-Sena MP convicted in 1992-93 Mumbai riot case

Mumbai, July 9: A special riot court sentenced former Shiv Sena MP Madhukar Sarpotdar and two other party workers to one year imprisonment for inciting violence during the 1992-93 communal clashes in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 each on Sarpotdar, Ashok Shinde and Jaywant Parab. The court acquitted three more accused in the same case.
