When chef Sanjeev Kapoor takes to the centrestage (read kitchen), the audience, ofcourse all ladies, is sure to come up with loads-n-loads of questions. As the chef prepares for the dishes and by the time they are actually ready to be served, questions and guesses on culinary skills start simmering. Last weekend, when Kapoor prepared some Sugar Free dishes at some of the clubs in Ahmedabad, his interaction with the ladies turned sweeter even with kheer, halwas and cakes becoming the topic of discussion.

While the chef tried to know what’s the special dish this season in Gujarat, oondhiyu came the prompt and chorus reply. Questions kept rolling, and Kapoor even tested the general knowledge of the ladies with questions like which country is the largest producer of saffron. Well, the ladies came close to the answer but not to the exact answer, i.e Iran.

Now, for those of you who are strictly vegetarian and would go for cakes without egg, here is an important tip. The egg when replaced with the following additional ingredients will serve the same purpose as that of the egg: 50 gm maida, 50 gm sugar, 50 gm ghee/ butter/ oil, 1 tsp baking powder and 3-4 tbsp milk.

He also informed the audience about lehsan ka kheer, that took many by surprise. “But the combination of milk and garlic is not right”, said a lady. But, the celebrity chef had answers for everybody who also advised them to always try to know the purpose of the ingredients being used in preparing a recipe.
